Can't Export Battles from FoG: Empires

Running both FOGII and FOG: Empires on Steam.

Button to export battles is shown, clicking the button brings up confirmation. Confirming override of existing battle but then nothing happens.

I have read the other recent posts. Steam, FOGII and Empires are being ran as administrator. Tried renaming the Empires_Steam.exe file to just Empires.exe but that caused a file not found error when trying to start from Steam.

Any other fixes out there?

Really love the game, it used to work. Not sure what broke.

You can start FoGM manually and load the exported battle, that might knock things back to working.

You do need to ensure you run the two games before trying to get them to talk to each other.

Yes, I have started both games. Even have an old battle that loads in FOGII. But when I started a new campaign, I still get the old battle in FOGII and Empires although it gives me the option to export doesn't seem to do anything.

I have reinstalled once with no change in behavior.

Go into the local folder(s) in Documents/My Games for each game, and manually delete the old transfer file(s) (AgeodBattleResults and AgeodBattleData) which I think are in one of the SAVES folders. Something may have messed with the file protections.

I assume you can correctly save and load games from each product?

Ok, we are making progress. Deleting the old battle files triggered the expected response from Empires.

The battle worked in FOGII as expected and apparently exported.

Empires refused to load the battle results with an error: "unable to load a game matching the requested battle result."

I assume it can't find the location or the battle results file is not in expected format? I confirmed the battle results file existed and in the same folder that they previously were saved.

You also need to delete any EXPORT*.LSF files from your SAVES folder(s).
