It is the winner's duty to report the results (or the higher scorer in a draw). However, the loser should also check to see that the match has been reported in a timely manner to ensure a score isn't lost.

Please report results in this format. Please use the results from the top left corner of the screen from the final turn. Do not use the scores from the final game summary screen, which show the losses suffered by type.

Solemnace - Sumerian/Akkadian 2500-2193

51-14

Congrats to Solemnace who did not choose simplicity in this tournament.
Even though the result is a decisive victory, he made me doubt for most of the game !
Urartrian commandment send a small strike force to the east to flank the main enemy line. A large force of Sumerian Battle Cars, towed by fierce donkeys, block them. The force finally defeat most of them but cannot come back to the main battle.

In the same time, a mix force of spearmen & archers, heavy chariots and cavalry, face a really strong line of sumerian spearman, holding their pointys sticks with both hand. A small group of shieldbearers as a flank, was mainly observing the battle, toes in the fresh river.

Although unarmoured, unprotected, unmounted and unarrowed, the very old Summerian's spearmens were a real threat : they have skill, numbers and 1500 years of practices behind them. They could easily overwhelm the Urartrians positions.

Using the deep stream as a cover and a means of temporarily disorganizing the enemy, the Urartrians applied a mutual support tactic, heavy chariots and cavalry prohibiting certain movements to allow the S&A to empty their quivers and, thus, to balance the result of the inevitable and terrifying charge.

This day, it was enough to repel the Sumerians.

Solemnace's Sumerian/Akkadian 2500BCE-2193BCE defeats Grandviceroy2018 Hittite 1594-1351 61-40

A match up of old fashioned disipline versus new fangled ideas like chariots and battle armor. While good use of a hill on the Sumerian left allowed the Hittites to destroy the Sumerian right, except a single battle car which broke through and ran down some light foot, and skilled use of chariots did significant damage on the Sumerian right against Sheildbearer and Spearmen formations beofre most of the chariots were destroyed or driven from the field. The Centre and Left infantry of the Hittite forces couldn't overcome superior disipline and training of the Sumerian Spearmen who smashed through them in a grinding contest that would only have one outcome to achieve victory over the Hittite forces.

Solemnace Sumerian/Akkadian 2500BCE-2193BCE defeats SawyerK Egyptian 1200-1150 BC 45-15

The Egyptians thought to take more men to face the Horde of Sumerians facing them but this proved to be something of an error as it left them with no men capable of standing up to Picked Sumerian Spearmen who ravaged the Egyptian centre left shattering it. The Egyptians did well on the far left breaking a number of Sumerian units taking advantage of a rough hill to strengthen their position but with their centre collapsing and their chariots on the extreme right having been kept from the action by Sumerian Shieldbearers they had no choice by the end but to flee.

Solemnace Sumerian/Akkadian 2500BCE-2193BCE defeats ilpars Philistine 1166-801 BC with Syro-Canaanite 44-14

On a flat plain two long line of infantry marched agaisnt each other. The Philistine and Canannite Elite had some success on the left against Sumerian infantry and Battle Cars but in the centre the Philistine line collapsed almost instantly in the face of the attack of the Picked Spearmen of the Sumerians. With most of their chariots tied up on the flanks with skirmishing against the Sumerian infantry they were able to rip to pieces most of the Philisitine centre and right. Even the left which had been going well was countered with a Sumerian counter attack by light foot and more Battle Cars routing enough of the Philistine host to force the rest to flee.

Grandviceroy2018 Hittite 1594-1351

63-41
Both commands chose to bring many mobile units, cavalry and chariots. Urartrians chose to have a powerful and mobile left wing but to reserve some of these units on its right flank. The Hittites, on the other hand, chose to concentrated their elite nobility on their right wing. The ballet of charges, chases, and shots ended up favoring the Urartrians, mainly by chance.

Once the chariots were engaged in the ballet, the frail Anatolian infantry was riddled with arrows and swept away. Two heavy chariots, in particular, cut a bloody path in the light spearmens and the poorly equipped irregulars.

Despite this favorable result, the proud Hittites were able to give a hard time to the Urartrians army, far too confident in its victory to avoid serious tactical mistakes.

Solemnace Sumerian/Akkadian 2500BCE-2193BCE defeats Rob123 Sea Peoples 1208-1176BC with Libyan 46-20

The Sumerian initially hled on the defensive letting the mixed force of invaders come to them. They eventually got bored of slowly allowing them to attack while slowly trying to move into position on the flanks and moved forward more aggressively in the centre. The initial skirmishing favored the Sea Peoples with their Libyan archers providing support agaisnt Sumerian light foot and initial success was also achieved agaisnt some of the Shieldbearers who moved forward too aggressively. As the main clash began they found themselves in trouble as their big infantry formations were outmaneuvered by the Sumerians who constantly hit them in flanks to break up formations while on the right Sumerian heavy chariots smashed through all in front of them. The Sea peoples were able to break units here or there but it did not prove enough against the disipline of the Sumerians who as long they held firm had the advantage once the rush of impact was over.

SawyerK leading the Egyptian 1200-1150 BC army

defeated

mcfcvio and Assyrian 704-682 BC army

by 49 to 22.

The Egyptians used enclosures and rough ground to defend against a strong Assyrian cavalry attack on their left flank. That side held just long enough for their swordsmen to break through the center of the Assyrian line, which led to the victory.

Solemnace Sumerian/Akkadian 2500BCE-2193BCE defeats Indibil Assyrian 745-705 BC w NeoHittite/Aramean 42-4

The Assyrian and Sumerian armies met on a ridge of high ground above a large stream. Assyrian heavy chariots were able to hold up the spearmen of the right flank of the Sumerian army before slowly being outmaneuver but still holding by the end of the battle. In the centre however the Assyrians could on the whole stand up to the Sumerian Spearmen and were rapidly routed from the field inflicting some losses but failling to overwhelm the Sumerians in any meaningful way.
