Field of Glory 2 next step?

Post by Adraeth »

Just a topic to ask if we will be able to see something new with this fascinating engine.

Thanks in advance

I for one love their games and pretty much anything they produce will be an automatic buy for me.

I still occasionally sit back and think how it would be great to have East Asia officially in FoG2.

Or how nice it would be to have the Pike and Shot era redone in the FoG2 (or a successor) engine, also with the more global scope FoG2 had. (It was nice to get Sengoku Jidai as a Pike and Shot spinoff and then to eventually have a mod to bring the two together, but even then we're still missing significant players of the era like the Safavids and Mughals.)

Or how intriguing it could be to have a game that covers the 18th century up through around the ACW/Franco Prussian war. I think this one is probably less on the table as I've heard FoG tabletop rules have never been drafted for the 18th century onward and thus there's nothing preexisting to adapt, but hey that also just means that the creation process involves some pioneering design work :)
