The victorious Roman II advances NW after combat into the hex NE of Cosae. And the consul for a day returns command of the army to the duly elected consul for year I.

Roman 8th Operation. Army Operation. Both Roman armies are in suply.
Roman 1st Army moved by road to Cosae. Rolled more than 2*Threshold for 4 times.
Holding move at 1 hex SE of Cosae to see if Etruscan army intercepts.

Roman 2nd Army stays in position, doesn't move.

Extra rations of wine and cheese are given to the men.

1st Battle of Cosae.
Rolled 5 for terrain. So that is Plains.

Etruscan has 1450 pts, Romans has 1550 pts. Setting up battle. Password is Cosae

Roman gods were with us in the battle. Almost as soon as the main battle line clashed, Etruscans failed most of their morale checks and battle was over. 17 vs 42 Roman victory.
Etruscan army is destroyed. Roman momentum is at 3.
Over to Etruscans.

Congrats to the victory! Does the Etruscan Army advance into the hex vacated by the Etruscan Army?

Congrats! Romans are in a good flow (bad from the Etruscan perspective). :)

Question. not that it matters in this situation, but in order to avoid any future rule misinterpretations: what do you mean by "+2 from both Roman armies"? Because only Roman Army II is located "in or Adjacent to City". Roman Army I is in Caere, right? Or have I missed any moves?

Situation end of Year 1

Post by kronenblatt »

What a year! Saw a lot of dramatic twists and turn, with the Etruscans starting off on a strong note but the Romans kicking back with a vengeance. When the dust settled at the end of the campaign season in the first year, one Etruscan Army has been annihilated, two Cities have swapped, and another faction has entered the scene as a Roman ally: the Gauls. Year 2 will be no less dramatic!

In Planning Season conducting diplomacy phase what is the diplomacy order?
Do we conduct our all 3 diplomacy actions first then Etruscans do their 1 or is it 1 Roman, 1 Etruscan, 2 more Roman?
