Tourny timeout

Post by xxCLASHxx »

Hi there,

Just had my tourny game timeout, I felt I was in a good position to score more points and I think that I had much less dwell time but looking at the score my score only went up by two and I didn't get a win bonus when it timed out waiting for my opponent.

Is there a standard set of formulas that come into play or does it just end with no added benefit.

Thanks in advance.

If a game times out, it is awarded to the player who had the least amount of time spent; think of it like a chess clock. The moral of the story is that quick turnaround time is a key strategy to doing well. One of the reasons I stopped playing official tournaments is that I won almost as many games in time-outs as I did in games played to completion.

IMHO, the 2 week time limit is way too short; it should be 3 weeks to allow a greater number of games played to completion. In TDC, the average time is 18-21 days per match, based on the time tracking I've done for a few seasons now.

This has been brought up before, but so far, there's been no sign of this changing.
