Aside from making the first scenarios for Das Reich, i have also started playtesting Ashes of Empire.
.
Until now 119 units have been added in the armory for Das Reich. Heer and Luftwaffe units will always be auxiliaries.
There will be bonus units and capturables.

That's brilliant! And the fact that you can capture trophies and use them against their former owners is absolutely brilliant!

The "Das Reich" division captured enough T-34 tanks to form the 3rd battalion of the 2nd Panzer Regiment.
The captured T-34s were used by the "Das Reich" division in various operations and with notable success, notably during the Battle of Kursk as part of "Zitadelle" in July 1943.

Environmentally friendly air defence in Cuba. When there’s no oil, horse-drawn transport is still a viable option, even in the 21st century )

In Germany, a special fuel-saving order had been in force since 1942, which required agricultural machinery, lorries, buses and all heavy non-military vehicles to be converted to run on gas-generator units. Such a plant converts any combustible fuel into gas that can be used in internal combustion engines without modification. Brown coal and firewood were used as fuel.
The worse the petrol situation became, the more rear-area military vehicles were converted to run on gas generators. Initially, these were lorries and tractors, and later training tanks.

German historians have found documents indicating that combat vehicles were also converted to run on gas generators; in particular, 50 ‘King Tigers’ were fitted with such systems. Photographs of ‘Tigers’ and ‘Panthers’ fitted with these systems have survived; you can see them in the video.

Hello everyone! I’ve got a question for all you military vehicle enthusiasts and armchair experts ) Could something like this have actually been used in combat, or is this just a bit of improvisation by the museum staff?

Development update.
Testing of Ashes of Empire has finally begun. Four scenarios have been tested and tweaked, fifteen more to go.
The first four scenarios for Das Reich have been created, plenty more to come.

If you care for some playtesting of Das Reich, you know how to get in touch. I'm not volunteering for the non-WW2 projects (but will play them) because my historical expertise is not very good for these. If you ever made WW1-related scenarios this could change as this is even more my area of interest. But I don't think the PzC system is well made when it comes to simulating WW1.

Anyway, let me know if you need playtesting.

For the campaign i use flag 22 for the player to purchase these units; Heer units cannot be purchased.
I also intend to place these units under flag 0, so when playing a different campaign like the Grand Campaign, there will be more units to choose from the "Germany" list.
