Well, the current political and strategic situation is always more important than past circumstances. Pakistan (which would be India’s most logical opponent) is not included in the MC mod; and in a global World War III where the US would be fighting China, I don’t see India taking a clear side between the two. In my opinion, the most likely outcome would be very limited support for the US while publicly maintaining a neutral stance to act as a mediator and increase its influence. So it would be reasonable to omit India if the map is already too large. Asia is much bigger than Europe !
But since it would be a shame not to include everyone on an Asian map, I’d say India could also decide to settle scores with China and try to redraw the borders if it appears on the map. Realistically, it should stay a border dispute ; but it's Panzer Corps after all ! When the border war is won, Chinese tanks could roll towards New Delhi (or vice-versa) !
We would then have a large ground theatre while the US and Chinese navies have their fun in the East.
