Anglo-Norman Culture

Post by Polskers »

Hi all,

Just a couple of quick questions regarding Kingdoms gameplay for you.

If I am playing as the Normans invading England in the 1054 campaign, will my culture switch to Anglo-Norman?

Secondly, should the culture of England in the 1223 campaign (with the latest DLC) not be Anglo-Norman instead of Franco-Norman?

Thank you!

The game handles cultural change at the regional level but falls short when it comes to national-level change; this is a known limitation. The issue is deciding when to trigger the shift, and the Norman case is particularly specific. So, to answer briefly: the Normans will not change culture at the national level by mixing with the Anglo-Saxons, but the population culture in England will become Norman. From a gameplay standpoint, what matters is that the two align, even if historically it is not ideal.

As for the second point, I am noting it; it is more of a data bug.
