Presumably Kemal's career, 1915-22?

Interesting. I admit that I haven't much personal interest in completely hypothetical campaigns like Charlemagne (adding hypothetical scenarios after a historical start like e.g. Roma Victor or your other Italian campaign is different), which is one of the reasons I have been keeping quiet. This one would be interesting to me, even though the mix of units will be much more limited than in the WW2 setting (lots of different cavalry, sure, and different sorts artillery I guess).

My standard hope is for a continuation of either the historical French campaign, or (the greatest fantasy) of the Soviet DLC to 1943 and on. But you are the modder and I merely the player, so of course it's always your choice.

Alt-history campaigns aside, it’s actually very interesting to explore some lesser-known conflicts. What also helps is that I’m no longer dependent on community icons to create new campaigns. Not that my icons are top-notch, but they serve their purpose.

Excellent plan and teams!

However, although the Soviet leadership did provide financial and military aid to the Kemalists between 1920 and 1922, they were not the only ones on whom the Bolsheviks were relying in their Eastern policy. Indeed, in 1921, the Soviet leadership seriously expected that local communists would be able to come to power and establish a Soviet republic in Turkey. To assist them, numerous emissaries from the People’s Commissariat for Military Intelligence (Razvedupr) and the Comintern were sent to Turkey.

Are you starting with Gallipoli? After all, this is where he cut his teeth as a leader of some note.

The 1920-22 campaign is interesting in an ebb-and-flow sort of way, but the Greeks really had no chance once after they failed to bag any significant forces in 1920. The 1921 advance was a straight up dash with half baked objectives (get to Ankara, and then what?) and against an opponent with a crushing superiority in cavalry (especially in quality) in a terrain made for cavalry. Then in 1922 they just extended their lines over an insanely ambitious perimeter, so it's not surprising that they collapsed so quickly and so thoroughly.

Not to take anything away from Kemal who was an intelligent and inspirational leader, but the Greeks were totally doomed once Lloyd George left them out to dry. Which was par for the course for him (I am not L-G's greatest fan, to put it mildly).

Wow, are we going to have to update our fleet?

This unit would even be suitable for the Turkish contingent of the UN forces in the North Korean Civil War of 1950–1953!
