Bolt Action - Dev Diary #1: Reimagining the Front Line

Post by danielastefanelli »

Bolt Action Dev Diary #1 is live!

We’re excited to begin sharing regular updates from the development trenches, starting with a behind-the-scenes look at how we’re building a turn-based tactics game that stays true to the soul of Bolt Action.

There’s also a question for the community: Which national characteristic are you most excited to see in action? The American "Fire and Maneuver," the British "Artillery Support," or the dreaded German "Hitler's Buzzsaw"?

Tell us in the forum. We’re listening.

Sounds promising and I'm looking forward to the future Dev Diaries.

The biggest question I have after the fist blog is, will the game use the "dice in bag" activation system of the tabletop game? To me that's the best feature Bolt Action that I wouldn't mind seeing used in most other game systems as well.

They need to think long and hard about multi player, tacking it on the end of single player is not going to work well. Unless it is 'timed' face to face, something like Battle Star Galactica - Deadlock. I could see the dice bag system working there.
I recently bought the rule book, firing mechanics and ranges could be improved in a computer version. In my opinion, of course
Early days, fingers crossed.
