Battlefield Europe 2.4 Kursk save AAR

Post by Uhu »

Dear Panzer (Corps) Generals and Field Marshalls!

Maybe, finally, I will be able to make an AAR of my battles in the BE (...after 1000+ hours of gameplay.  :D )

I started now the prepared, historical save which begins with Kursk + Sicily invasion. Not an easy task...
Also this time I play "clean" - no manual calculated Rommel difficulty (-50% prestige).
Goal: making a DV!
Conditions:
- Dice chess (with cheat it is possible).
- Finns stay put until Leningrad is captured. They will be only active in the captured area.
- Tons of reloads. My goal is a theoretical - is it possible to achieve this goal?
- Reloads but only for better decisions not for better fight, or dice results.

As first, I will put some pictures here about my actual advances. Hopefully later a fully AAR will be created.

Malta finally captured. Sicily could be defended, but it hung on the edge...

Everything quiet on the Northern front. Or maybe not... (arrival of the Karl-Gerät 040...)

Oil, oil, oil!! OK, maybe a little later, when the fields are restored. But finally in Axis hands!

Turn - 66
After a long, costly and painful preparation, reverse D-day, aka Sealion'44 happened!
The Tommies and their US friends are now surely surprised. But the hard part will just come now: the full wrath of the Royal Navy and the combined air power of the Anglo-Saxons will strike on our troops! But we are prepared for that. I hope so...

Kursk and the surrounding area could be finally cleared of hostile activity. It was a long and bloody battle and the initial pincer maneuver could be also not initiated, but at the end our heroic forces could eat their self through the massive Soviet defenses and beat the enemy.

Once again Axis forces are nearing the Soviet capital. Aerial recon shows that the enemy exhausted most of it's armored forces in the area. On the other hand reinforcements can show up fast... There is a massive artillery and AT gun concentration left around the Rzhev-Vyazma-Mozhaysk triangle.

That would be a relative easy task if the Axis forces were strong, but that is not the case. Also the right flank should be strengthened, by capturing Tula. It is not yet and there is not much Axis Art. to initiate a siege. The good news is, that south of Tula, down at the western shores of the Don river, the Axis forces could build up a strong defense belt.
