Division A

Kroche French 1428-1444 w Scot (Continental) 21% loss
defeats
Triarii Polish 1455-1500) + Lithuanian 46% loss

French snuck a win against a fully mounted Polish army. French could occupy the centre high ground in a defensive line with artillery to support Polish moves against their right and longbow and crossbow on an impregnable hill to guard against the attacks on their left. French did not try to engage in the early turns and watched on as a light crossbowman unit held a built up area in the Polish rear and defended it vs missile fire at first and then a street battle vs Lithuanian cavalry for multiple turns before autobreaking. French missile troops stayed rooted to the large hill as their right moved to engage the Polish knights - French Men at Arms performed well vs their Polish counterparts and breaking two of them pushed the score to 46-21. It was quite possible for one of the Polish routed units to rally and if so the match may have been a draw as remaining Polish forces were fairly intact and not in immediate danger. Luckily no rally and the match was won. GG

alexhstandish (Skythian and Thracian) defeats Bagatrix1805 (Parthian) 45 : 60

A tough game. The Skythians should have left the Thracian infantry at home as they just got killed off, but the horse archers took out the opposing light horse and then whittled down the cataphracts to eventually get over the line.

Due to a number of MP server downtimes experienced during the tournament, the coordinators have voted to extend time of play by one week. Originally, April 5, it is now April 12.

Ironclad Sassanid Persian 350-476 AD and Kushan allies defeated SimonLancaster Byzantine 551-578 AD and Arab allies, 60-58

A tough exciting battle which was close all the way and which could easily have gone either way.

Result:

IMC English 1272-1319 AD with Welsh has beaten alexmike1 German NW 1200-1319

Score: 60% to 55%

A series of fiver results for Div A

Triarii German (Northwest) (1200-1319) + Polish
defeats
1 Stones1985 Order of St John 1292 to 1319 AD score 60-47
Early success for the mounted element of the Knights of St John on their open left against lighter Polish allies routing and chasing off the Poles and their limited support. Meanwhile the big dismounted German Knights supported by Xb and some luck eventually ground down and broke all of the Orders smaller dismounted knight units and their supports posted on a low hill. The dispersed mounted Order knights not quite able to get back in time. A very close game decided by length of pursuits.
2 Captainwaltersavage English 1272 - 1319 with Irish score 43-0
Fortuitous German deployment allowed a large hill to be taken and an abject performance by welsh bowmen condemned the English to attacking uphill.
3 Cherebuschka Amenian (Cilicia) 1080-1099 with crusader 58-32
A very close toe to toe slugfest where, eventually, German dismounted knights eventually prevailed.


Triarii German (Northwest) (1200-1319) + Polish
has lost to both (but only one appears reported)
tyronec Portuguese 1200-1319 + Berber. score 51-16
Nijis Sicilian 1155-1193 score 46-20

Div A

Triarii defeats Bagatrix score 47-21
Vikings managed to gain the hill and grind down all those veteran spearmen.

Triarii defeats nosferatu score 48-22
Although on pretty open ground Vikings mange to trap one flanking move and break it against a wood and map edge while frustrating on the opposite flank. It was almost long enough to get a very early victory as the Huscarls ground through the opposing shield wall but several Viking spear units were eventually flanked and routed.

After a difficult start when the Avar lancers caught a number of chain routs, the German lancers managed to get on top.

The Dailami infantry could not match the German dismounted lancers , and a strong force of lancers hidden in a wood managed to find some flanks
