GUI_ServeRresponseError?

I received emails Sunday that I have some PBEM turns waiting for me. Started the game and got a popup over the main menu "GUI_ServeRresponseError". I closed the popup and click on MultiPlayer and ... it never connects. I posted about it on the Steam forum and another person reported the same behavior.

Tried again today (Monday, 12+ hrs later) and am seeing the same again.

Steam version 1.04.12. "Validate Files" reports no issues. Is there likely an issue on my side or is there a problem on the backend?

That type of error usually means there is a problem with the server. I got those connection errors yesterday for several Slitherine/Matrix pbem servers actually.
