Lysimachos, so my understanding is that both of these are individually tactical victories (2 points each because it is an attack w/ counterattack). Markleslie has a minor fortress in Smaland. Does that mean the 48-31 (Danish attack to smaland) get reduced to a minor victory with the counterattack victory remaining unchanged for a total of 3 points overall with the fortress being destroyed b/c of a tactical victory? Or does the combined 4 points get reduced to a minor victory overall by the presence of the fortress?

The second is right.
The rules states: "the result will be determined by summing up the outcomes of both battles, each of them giving the following point values ... The outcome will be determined based on the point difference between the two Nations ...", which means that the two battles are treated overall as a single battle, whose final outcome is determined summing up the results of the two encounters.
In the case, you won two tactical battlese earning a total of 4 pts. which gives you an overall tactical victory and makes you to be treated as the attacker.
Given the presence in the attacked province of Smaland of a minor fortress, the tactical victory is degraded to marginal, while the fortress is definitively ruined and disappears.

Thank you, I should have read the rules more carefully.Lysimachos wrote: ↑Fri Jan 16, 2026 9:59 am

As an aside, I think this mod, for whatever faults it may have, is fantastic for playing other people. Every MP battle I have had has a real "touch and go" feel until a sudden collapse near the end. In the base game you can kind of get an idea who is going to win pretty early in a lot of matches. With this, I am never certain until the game ends and IMHO keeps players engaged in trying to win the match rather than limiting damage because you never know when the morale of a huge part of your line or the opponent's will collapse. Plus it is not just a chain rout that happens but a collective loss of morale in a sector of the line that gets hit hard which I think matches my understanding of how age of musket battles went. Great job, plus this campaign is well done and fun, even if the Ogre Saxones is steamrolling North Germany

Thanks for your kind words, mate!
The mod took me a lot of work but I'm quite satisfied of the result.
In the coming months a newer version is expected with some adjustments and refinements which, I hope, will improve a little more the actual experience.
Regarding campaigns, I've always loved organizing them, and it's a real fun to play them with all of you!

Re: BALTIC CAMPAIGN AD 1735
AD 1743
Open Battle in Lithuania
Prussian – Polish 48% / 43%
Prussian marginal defeat
Fearing to face the enemy head on, the astute polish general arranged to deploy his men in the thick of the humid Lithuanian woods located on the extreme edge of the battlefield.
The brave Prussian soldiers, not having the heart to retreat without at least trying to defeat the treacherous enemy, agreed to run the gauntlet by advancing at the risk of their own lives.
A crazy and ferocious battle ensued, with troops appearing and disappearing in the shadows, ending as darkness fell with a slight predominance of the Polish forces.

Re: BALTIC CAMPAIGN AD 1735
This was the very strange battle, rather than fighting in the vast plains of Lithuania we defended in the forests of North America. So the Prussians for once couldn't use their massed artillery, and their shock cavalry were lost in the trees until almost the end of the engagement. The few clearings were covered by our light guns and we performed a double envelopment with our numerous light troops. Even so a massive advantage mid game was starting to evaporate as the Prussians fought back with grit and determination.

"The older you get, the more you become convinced that His Sacred Majesty the Fate does three-quarters of the work in this miserable universe."

That said, given that anyway we have to govern, the King of Prussia orders:
1) new Requisitions, if anything is still left in the realm to collect,
2) Truce with the Poles, that at least for a while they direct their covetous eyes elsewhere,
3) Major Fortress in Pomerania, to protect this ravaged province,
4) Garrison in Pomerania to guard the Saxon border

The peace loving Kingdom of Poland and Lithuania do the following
1/ Taxation because our people are happy to pay for their security
2/ Propaganda or rather the righteous telling of the truth about pretty much everything
3/ Major Fortification in Lithuania to protect against future invasion by the Warmongering Prussians
4/ garrison in Mazovia because our troops love to spend the summer in the warmer southern climate

Re: BALTIC CAMPAIGN AD 1735
Now that the fortress in smaland has been reduced. Our borders are safe and that which we set out to accomplish has been completed. For the last Turn:
1) Propagandize our subjects
2) Minor fortress in Jutland
3) Garrison Jutland
4) Garrison Holstein

A shakeup of the military arms is well underway, sadly our Cuirassiers have been relegated to ceremonial duties only while the new Corps of Engineers move into their new much larger barracks in the capital.

Re: BALTIC CAMPAIGN AD 1735
Thanks everybody, Sirs, for the nice campaign and the many battles fought in various fashion.
Hope you enjoyed the game!
As for me, Prussia barely managed to survive the onslaught of the fearsome Saxon Orc and this is already a great success ...
Stay tuned for the future because great news are arriving (someone says that in a few weeks a new and cooler version of the AOR mod is going to be published)!

Re: BALTIC CAMPAIGN AD 1735
Congratulations to gribol for his very, very modest victory but, just maybe, the real victory was the friends we invaded along the way!

A big thank you to Lysimachos for all the effort in creating and running the campaign and the great mod that was that special sauce we all need on our meals.
HURRAH!
