The two mentioned games were turned based air sims, something with a similar vibe is made by Slitherine right now again, called Scramble: Battle of Britain, btw. But with 3D graphics. Let me add a thought about that, not sure if having visually way superior 3d models of the planes actually adds that much to a turn based strategy. We have been there at this point already decades ago and debated about that...^^

I would not mind a Panzer Corps 3, going back to a modernized UI and style of Panzer Corps 1. Let's see if the Creative Assembly makes a third Total War Medieval one day, right now the next one will be Warhammer again, 40k this time.

While I like Warhammer a lot (I particularly enjoyed reading the Horus Heresy), I am not sure if it is a great fit for the ever same Total War engine, even with adaptions.

Edit: Sorry, I am starting to go off topic...
3D games are not always suitable for older individuals, but young people today are quite particular. For example, I did not enjoy Panzer General 3, even though at the time it had improved graphics and more advanced capabilities.

Same story for me, I also backed Battle Worlds Kronos and then played it for less than 15 minutes. But they released, still waiting for Camelot Unchained to do that. :P

I played - as scenarios - Low Countries and Norway. Guess what, I know I was once way better than yesterday, hehe...
The takeway of note for me personally is that the Panzer General/Corps scenarios were highly sophisticated. A lot way more recent games have sometimes superior mechanics and improvements, but Panzer Corps has maps with supreme map design. This is a decisive advantage contributing to enjoyment and longevity of the game. Guess time and effort for that are simply rarely available anymore nowadays!

Indeed, Panzer Corps has excellent and varied map design. Add to that the scenario designer which, thanks to the hard work and imagination of the mod designers, offers many more campaigns and scenarios with designs that are surely beyond what Slitherine originally expected, and you have a game with longevity that requires thought and gives a ridiculous number of hours entertainment.
