Fragmented rule changes?

Post by vakarr »

I notice that it is no longer so easy to rout fragmented troops. All it used to take was a light horse unit roaming in the enemy rear to charge a fragmented enemy, and that was it, they were gone. Now I find that this often doesn't work. It is the same with other troop types. Am I just facing tougher enemies or have the rules for routing fragmented troops when charged changed?

The rules haven't changed for fragmented troops AFAIK, so you've just been unlucky. Better class fragmented troops have always had a higher chance of standing when charged, so sometimes it's wiser to keep shooting them till they break than attempting to sweep them away with a LH.

On my last turn, Triballi Thracians vs Romans, I charged two different fragmented light horse units in the rear, with different cavalry units, contacted, and they just ran away
