This round covers the lead up and early years of the Wars of the Spanish Succession

The Habsburg players must choose between;

Spanish 1649-1688
Spanish 1689-1698
Imperial Austrian 1691-1698
Anglo-Dutch 1689-1697

The Anti-Habsburgs must choose between;

French 1670-1690
French 1691-1698
Swedish 1680-1698
Danish 1681-1698

So please inform me by PM or on here of your first and second choice of army

After a long and fierce battle, the Spaniards were forced to retreat and leave their banners on the battlefield.

A 62-32 defeat would never have befallen the old Tercios, but these new soldiers no longer possessed that fighting spirit!

After a long spread out Battle the 15,000 Anglo-Dutch, 1689-97, 39% Defeated the 15,400 French, 1691-1698, 64%

My Imperials captured a small forest on our left then turned to outflank his infantry line and to help our left wing cavalry dominate his. Cavalry units pinned his salvo foot while our artillery and infantry shot him to pieces. His more numerous left wing cavalry were reluctant to engage ours in a forest until it was too late. Swedes lost 56% Imperials 19%.

We have reports that Dilly's Danish had a major victory over SMJ's Spanish.

So once again both sides win 2 and lose 2.
