Re: SPQR: March of the Eagles
I am currently working on several single-player scenarios, shown here in the image “Battle for Asculum” Pompeius Strabo (89 BC). If everything goes according to plan, I will release them by the weekend or, at the latest, sometime next week. They will be available in the menu under “Scenarios – Custom” and can be accessed from there. More details to follow.Valete!

Re: SPQR: March of the Eagles
Not for the Battle of Asculum, but I am in the process of designing a few scenarios that can be played by both sides.

That's good to see, personally I like to compare how I go through and how the AI goes through the same thing )

Re: SPQR: March of the Eagles
I have started reworking the first Carthaginian units and am making good progress. However, completing the full unit roster will still take some time. The scenarios (without the Carthaginians) will be made available soon, along with a small update.

Re: SPQR: March of the Eagles
Do you have any suggestions? At the moment, the list of units and factions is still small, but it is growing.
The scenarios I will be making available soon are fictional battles, with the exception of ‘Battle of Asculum’. Asculum has 52 rounds and depicts the fierce battle between the Romans and the Samnites for this city. In reality, it was not a single decisive battle, but rather several battles lasting weeks and months. The player must first secure the coast with smaller towns and the port of Asculi before marching on the city. With each conquest, there are more prestige points per round, etc. The other scenarios are more or less difficult training scenarios with a moderate 18-25 rounds. An example: the map is divided by a wide river with only one bridge. Two armies face each other and the player must try to secure the bridge so that he can bring his army to the other side, then push back the enemy army, surround it and finally conquer the hill with the victory field. I am currently working on a naval battle, also fictional for the time being.

Re: SPQR: March of the Eagles
I try my best to make these fictional battles playable for both sides, so there isn't much room for special missions in them. I'm also still working on revising the combat values in the device file; some units are too strong or still too weak, and I need to figure that out, preferably in battle.

Re: SPQR: March of the Eagles
Small update RomCorps0.1 is ready for download. After unpacking, simply copy the files from RomCorps and paste them into the RomCorps game folder. Copy the scenarios as well and paste them into My Games\Panzer Corps\Scenario.
The update contains 4 scenarios, 2 new units and a few visual changes to the menu.

Hi, you will gradually make every nation in ancient Europe, etc. Also units like in RTW2 DEI mode. It's great, I like ancient history, I studied it for a long time.Tobi72 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 20, 2025 11:21 am Small update RomCorps0.1 is ready for download. On the reverse can also be played I even sank all the Romans )))))

It was a bloody and epic battle ))) I think I even lost heroically ))) I'll have to play for the other side ))) It really helps the enemies to keep their defences up because my Romans need to put in a lot of effort and troops to cross the bridge and expand their foothold )))

Re: SPQR: March of the Eagles
In hindsight, I released this mod too early.
At launch, there should have been at least three playable factions, along with a tutorial campaign and a full campaign of roughly ten missions from the Roman perspective against Carthage. Likewise, the single-player scenarios and the visual overhaul of the menu should have been completed prior to release.
That said, I am a one-man army, and plans are only useful if they can be adapted along the way.
Regarding naval battles and ship repairs: yes, repairing ships at sea is generally a sensible idea. However, I personally find it more engaging to withdraw damaged warships from combat, bring them back to port for repairs, and then send them back into battle. If repairs were possible at sea, naval engagements would likely be a few turns shorter—at least in my view—which would reduce their tactical depth.

And yes, you lost this battle; the rebels successfully defended the last hill against your cohorts. The end of the round saved them.

I meant that hexes with $ could simply bring prestige (you can make transport ships with slaves and capture them + karma and wallet)! And I repaired ships in my ports, but prestige increased slowly there, all of this is in the replay.

This link to your mod is on one of the Russian forums.

Re: SPQR: March of the Eagles

Calm down, my grumpy friend!
So, the game turned around for the rebels, who, with my participation, crushed the Roman legions and their reinforcements. Not only did we hold our positions, but we also captured the Roman ones. More details can be found in the small screenshots (click on them to enlarge) and in the replay. Perhaps the Romans need to add more troops, as it is impossible to take the rebels' positions with such forces. But I'll try later.

It was an epic battle in the forest and near the riverbed ))) The main thing here is to manoeuvre and protect the Roman troops, retreat in time, then regain what has been lost in order to gain prestige for treating and replenishing the wounded ))) Now I will try to kill all the Romans with the rebels and capture their main important points )))

It was easier than I thought, because AI doesn't know how to be cunning, and my rebels were crafty ))) More details in the screenshots and replay )

Re: SPQR: March of the Eagles
I advanced slowly, destroying enemies and capturing their fortresses, repelling counterattacks, and because of that, I didn't quite make it in time. Can this map be played in reverse? Overall, it was fun and adrenaline-filled.

Yes, the stupid AI couldn't even land, and I had to pick my nose and click until move 52 from move 11 )))

Re: SPQR: March of the Eagles
No, Asculum can only be played with the Romans. I didn't even try to help the Romans with triggers here. But even though I know the scenario, it took me 49 turns to capture Asculum. You can't stay in one place for long, but have to gather your units, seek out the enemy and challenge them. While trying to besiege the fortress in the south with a small force, you should advance with the other part. In the ‘Bridge’ scenario, on the other hand, I used the same triggers for both sides to help the AI. Both sides have the same number and type of troops and receive reinforcements at the same time. Perhaps you, Bond, learned from your first attempt and used your units more effectively this time. I'll watch the replays.
