Still testing the pre-Khalkhin Gol scenarios, and added a few more units.

Every unit for Manchukuo can be purchased for those who want to mix their core army.

Re: PzC Series - Rising Thunder v0.1 (18/12/25) - Prelude to Blitzkrieg (24/09/25) - The Lost Spring (24/09/25)
Rising Thunder: The Early Wars of Empire (1935–1940)
I’d like to finally share a campaign project I’ve been working on for Panzer Corps, focused on Japan’s early continental wars in East Asia.
Rising Thunder covers the period from 1935 to 1940, starting with border clashes and limited operations in Manchukuo and Inner Mongolia, then escalating through the undeclared war against the USSR and Mongolia. The campaign follows a mostly historical path up to Khalkhin Gol, after which it branches into a plausible alt-history: a decisive Japanese victory and its consequences.
The design goals are:
historically grounded orders of battle in Panzer Corps tradition
briefings and pop-up messages in English, German, French and Russian
strong operational pacing (from small frontier actions to large combined-arms battles),
and a believable “what-if” arc that stays within the logic of the period.
The campaign consists of 15 scenarios of which 7 have been made available today.
early Manchurian border patrols and Inner Mongolian operations,
the full Khalkhin Gol / Nomonhan campaign,
a short breather scenario on the Chinese frontier,
and a final alt-history offensive culminating in the collapse of the Soviet Eastern Expeditionary Front.
Rising Thunder: The Early Wars of Empire (1935–1940)
Panzer Corps

After corrections, fixing and testing the first 7 scenarios can be played. Once the remaing 8 are done, i will post the full version. In order to play Rising Thunder, Nikivdd equipment file v10 is required to play. I wish i could have done otherwise but as we all know, the vanilla armory is entirely insufficient to create a campaign for the Japanese side.
There are also a few units available for Manchukuo, which are all purchasable.
During gameplay, certain units will be gifted while others can be captured. One slot has been made available for a bonus unit which can appear at the start of the third scenario.
Scenario list:
01. Manchurian border patrol
02. Battle of Chahar
03. Halhamiao Incident
04. Orahodok Incident
05. Changkufeng Tensions
06. Lake Khasan Conflict
07. The Khanka Escalation

Nico bro it's cool ! I've happily made it to map 3 already, killing bandits and communists along the way )))) But in the option to buy and upgrade tanks there are invisible tanks, which means there will be problems with logging out if you buy them). If anything I can help with finding real photos as it makes the historicality and people will imagine how your cool units looked like in reality )
P.s.
Thanks separately for the Russian localisation !

I like the storyline too as well as the various additional tasks that don't let you get bored and drown in the routine ))))

There used to be a great site even on rare Japanese units now I don't have it open (

Great it turned out to have been moved as it turned out )

Damn it I forgot to destroy the antenna and I will have to replay as such a heroic samurai like me should not end with a simple victory !!!)))))))) Only a convincing banzai )))

Well, I didn't have to do hara-kiri as I have already passed with a convincing victory this map )

I deliberately delayed a convincing victory a bit to destroy the warehouse and oil storage facilities )))) It was a fun camping trip and a raid in the rear, but not necessary ))))

There is a loophole in the map of Lake Khasan ) ) If you do not take the last two mountain ranges, you can destroy almost all the Soviets who are waiting for the script signal ))) And so they crush us like cockroaches if you capture all the mountain ranges very early )))) Attention to screenshots and replay ) ! Probably need to change the logistics and that the Soviet tanks would appear after the inscription attention counterattack )

Khanka is also a glorious and epic battle )But my troops were stronger and more agile ) Also why do not give bonuses for destroying warehouses and oil depots !?!? I hope the continuation will appear soon as I got maximum pleasure during the passage for what I thank the author !

In the 10th mission got a convincing victory but many of my troops from the core died ))))) Also the Manjura scouts as I was always being attacked by red hordes of Mongolian cavalrymen )))) Too bad there is no 11th map I would have loved to see who survived this tour )))) But maybe I'll replay map 10 as I know where the hordes will come from and maybe set up my barriers a little differently.)

Re: PzC Series - Rising Thunder v0.2 (19/12/25) - Prelude to Blitzkrieg (24/09/25) - The Lost Spring (24/09/25)
Interesting campaign. I admit I have never felt the urge to play the IJA in PzC. My books on the Pacific war, as most people's in the West, only care about the naval campaigns, or the post-1942 campaigns in Malaysia, Burma etc. The Mongolian battles are always presented as a foreshadowing of what will happen with the Red Army (mechanisation, Zhukov, combined operations) - the IJA is a formless "other" with no details or character of its own.
So this will be a novel experience. Thanks. I am also delighted you are continuing with this early war focus. Though I do hold an eternal hope that Soviet DLC '43 will one day drop in this forum too

As Bond reported above, there are some "invisible" units, due to missing icons. Specifically Type 89A and Type 89B.
Using the "all eqp" cheat, I can also see missing icons for J1N1-S (tactical support). I have no idea if the opposition countermix has any icons missing, since I can only report what I can buy as Japanese.
The Japanese flag is also missing on the top of the classes of purchaseable units, but that's cosmetic
I am also not getting any "bigunit" pictures, though that is also cosmetic.
I am using a freshly downloaded v.10 equipment file no other mods enabled.

Thanks guys for the feedback.
There are indeed three units missing, i am not sure what went wrong.
Just unzip the file in the graphics\units folder of my armory.

It's good that, judging by the scenario description, we will be given additional Japanese tanks temporarily so that we have to stop Soviet Bt-2, Bt-5, Bt-7 and T-26 tanks not only with Japanese infantry and cavalry ))) Otherwise, in one of their missions, the Soviets even had A-32 tanks...

So it wasn't just the Germans who had their Brandenburg 800, Khivi and Vlasovites, but also the Japanese. I hope the author will add these units to his mod )))Asano Detachment
The most significant of the Russian military formations created by the Japanese was the Asano Detachment, named after its commander, Major Makoto Asano. At various times, it numbered between 400 and 3,500 men.
Founded on Emperor Hirohito's birthday, 29 April 1938, the detachment included infantry, cavalry and artillery units. Based in Manchukuo, Asano's soldiers were nevertheless completely supervised by the Japanese military.
The fighters of this secret unit were preparing to carry out sabotage and reconnaissance operations in the Soviet Far East in the future war against the USSR. Asano's men were to capture or destroy bridges and important communication hubs, infiltrate Soviet units and poison their food supplies and water sources.
Twice, in 1938 near the island of Khasan and in 1939 on the Khalkhin Gol River, the Japanese Empire tested the military potential of the Red Army. The Asanovites were sent to the combat zone, where they mainly participated in the interrogation of prisoners of war.
There is also evidence of combat clashes between the detachment's fighters and the enemy. For example, during the fighting at Khalkhin Gol, a cavalry detachment of the Mongolian People's Republic encountered Asanov's cavalrymen and mistook them for their own. This mistake cost the lives of almost all the Mongolian soldiers.
