When can we get an SE unit for the British in Allied Corps? I can seem to get one by Crete and I have tried reloading several times. Are they available later? I notice when playing as the US I can get one in the first scenario but it is a British Spitfire fighter.
Thanks

Re: SE Units In Allied Corps
They just come along every now and again as usual, as far as I can see. In my game so far, had a commando unit, an SAS unit, a Spitfire and , later on, a P47. My Commando unit was definitely there for Crete, so maybe you're just unlucky so far.
Re: SE Units In Allied Corps
In my experience (two plays through, one as Brits, one as US), all of my Allied Corps SE units were either infantry or fighters. These units require considerable experience to be effective. The ones I received early in the campaign became very useful. The ones that came along later never could do much. In time-compressed campaigns like Allied Corps, it might make sense for late arriving SE units to come with some experience attached. It's not like the GCs, where you have plenty of time to "level up" SE units, even in the last year of the war.
Re: SE Units In Allied Corps
To be a bit more complete, the first scenario that an SE unit might be awarded is Beda Fomm. For each scenario, the developer sets the number of SE slots that are available (they are like core slots, limited), if you have less SE units than the number of slots a unit might be awarded.
So if you have the max. number of SE units and you loose/sell one, another one could be awarded because a free slot has become available. You can use the cheats (all eqp) to buy more SE units, or just to have a look at them.
Border Raids through Bardia + Torch (US campaign): 0 (no) SE slots
Beda Fomm, Crete: 1 SE slot
Crusader, Cauldron, First Alamein + Kasserine (US campaign): 2 SE slots
Second Alamein, Medenine, Tunisia: 3 SE slots
Sicily, Salerno, Anzio Landing + Cassino Breaktrough: 4 SE slots
D-Day through Allied Disputes: 5 SE slots
If you want to have an SE unit at the earliest, save on the last turn of a previous scenario, if a new SE slot becomes available for the next scenario. Finish your last turn, and see if you get a new SE unit at the start of your next deployment. Reload until you get one.
The allied SE units are infantry (two types each for UK and USA) and aircraft (mostly Spitfires, P-47 and P-51). The US units only become available when you can purchase their equipment, so if you start with the British desert campaign you'll end up mostly with SE Spitfires, and the occasional infantry unit.

Re: SE Units In Allied Corps
Thvn; Thanks I have one Spitfire after Beda Fomma. I thought I might get one sooner. U R right on.
Re: SE Units In Allied Corps
I got 3 in the last five missions which sucked because they never got enough experience to be useful.
Re: SE Units In Allied Corps
Im up till Crete now and not a single SE unit is kinda sad. Think i had triump victories in all maps expect 2. Some maps are suprisingly hard. Again would need to know map before hand like sinking those cruisers either u get lucky or generally know where they are. Totally didnt wanna replay that scenario again just for triump victory
.
