Hi Goose,

I checked both versions and they seem to be working.
One other thing you could try, delete the french campaign folder, unzip the french campaign preset version and then copy /paste the corrected campaign file i posted earlier.
If you use the purchase version do the same without the corrected campaign file. Also remember that both versions cannot be in the mod folder at the same time.
If this still doesn't fix the issue, send me your savegame.

Development update

Campaign Haiku

雷鳴走る

草原の影揺れ

Shadows tremble on the steppe;

Rising Thunder: A campaign for Japan (1935-1940)

This campaign is part history, part alt-history. What Would Have Happened If Japan Won Decisively? Let's first have a little history lesson before answering that question.
What Japan’s defeat at Khalkhin Gol Meant (Historical Reality)? The “Strike North” doctrine — expanding into Siberia and fighting the USSR — lost all credibility. The Kwantung Army, previously untouchable, was humiliated. The army leadership had underestimated the Red Army and overestimated their own readiness. Their political authority suffered a major blow. The Red Army proved: superior mechanized coordination, deadly combined-arms tactics, overwhelming artillery concentration. The USSR secured its border and gained enormous confidence. After Khalkhin Gol, Tokyo abandoned plans to attack Siberia and instead turned its sights on: the Dutch East Indies, British Malaya and Burma, American Philippines. The need for oil pushed Japan toward the Pacific. This road ultimately led to Pearl Harbor. Japan & USSR sign the Neutrality Pact in 1941. Unable to risk another disaster, Japan sought stability. This allowed the USSR to redeploy Siberian divisions west — crucial for saving Moscow in 1941.
What would have happened if Japan won decisively? Now the “Strike North” doctrine triumphs — and the consequences are enormous. A crushing victory turns the Kwantung Army into heroes. The Army’s political influence skyrockets.
Japan commits to a northern expansion into Siberia, not a Pacific war. No Pearl Harbor — or a much later one; without the Southern Strategy, the U.S.–Japan conflict may be delayed to 1943–44 or avoided entirely. Soviet Far East is thrown into chaos: Zhukov is disgraced or removed — the opposite of history. Stalin must rush divisions eastward to prevent collapse. This means: fewer reinforcements for Moscow in 1941, weaker Soviet resistance to Barbarossa, Germany benefits enormously early in Barbarossa. Japan now threatens the Trans-Siberian Railway and has every incentive to expand northward while the USSR reels. So in short, If Japan had won, the Kwantung Army would drive deep into Mongolia and Siberia. Zhukov would fall, Stalin would be forced to reinforce the Far East, and the whole balance of World War II would shift. The Soviet Far East might collapse — and Japan would rewrite the map of Asia. Sofar the background.

The first 11 scenarios are historical (or as much as possible). This includes two battles at Lake Khasan and five battles of Khalkhin Gol between May and October 1939 . After scenario 11 we can explore "What would have happened if the Japanese won decisively at Khalkhin Gol?".

In terms of development i can announce that the 11 "historical" scenarios are made and are awaiting my first playtest.
The remaining scenarios of this campaign for the "unhistorical" part of 1939-40 are being planned. The briefings and outro briefings and ingame messages will be available in English, French, German and Russian.

The full scenario list will be made available as soon i have picked the final scenarios.

@Terminator, the images were resized to be used as hero portraits

@Goose. Your savegame fails to load in either version of the french campaign. My best guess is that it is an equipment issue. The best way to find out if it is an equipment issue, is to do a quick endscn 0 of the campaign while using the vanilla equipment file.

Your new units have no drop shadow, there is software that allows to add drop shadow :

I played the Prelude to Blitzkrieg and Fall Weiss campaigns, and as a German speaker, I can confirm that their respective localizations are fine for the most part. There is one thing I would like to nitpick, though:

The "Zerschlagene polnische Infanterie" label in the Poznan Pincer scenario sounds a bit confusing, as "zerschlagen" would imply that said units have already been destroyed. I could only tell that it is supposed to stand for "routed," as the unit name also said "Routed Polish Infantry" in the German localization.

"Flüchtende polnische Infanterie" would be more appropriate and accurate, as "flüchtend" would accurately represent the fact that these units still exist, but are in a disorderly retreat and thus incapable of offering any meaningful form of resistance, which is also the definition of the word "rout/routed."

Development update.
.
I have one more scenario to create for Rising Thunder, then the playtest and it will be ready.
Rising Thunder will only work with my armory as the vanila armory is completely insufficient, so there will be a huge update for this as well.
Afterwards i will concentrate on a new project, where i take a break from WW2.

When will this final update be available?
Image
In this rare (about 20 units) variant of the M10 tank destroyer, the gun has been replaced with a harmless mock-up. Instead, an impressive loudspeaker has been mounted on the turret, allowing the vehicle to “entertain” the enemy with roars, clangs, and other armored vehicle sounds, thus pretending to be a large force.
