Re: WTC25 ROUND 4 RESULTS (OPEN)
match 5 (Ursa v Lupi)
P3
game a
rpadilla1988 (Anglo Saxon) defeats Egmont (British) 10-49
The battle became dicey when both armies were mostly engaged, an ill fated charge from a Saxon warband resulted in fragmentation, then their subsequent collapse.. the damage was contained but had possibility of hitting a chain route! If that were the case then this outcome would have been drastically different!
game b
rpadilla1988 (British) defeats Egmont (Anglo Saxon) 16-52
I commend the men, held strong over the enemy charging on all fronts; though some cavalry was able to angle about and find some flanks.. amid the tumult as well a few troops were able to angle into jilted enemy lines and flank as well.
GG Egmont, a suspenseful battle thank you for the game!

Period 1a
Aetius (Philistines) defeats lydianed (Assyrians) 60-26
The Assyrians bravely charged uphill at the Philistines, but had some success with weakening the Philistine infantry initially with their arrows. However, arrows could not overcome better infantry, and once it got into melee the tide turned. GG!

Match 6 Period 1a
hscic (Comites) defeated ITL913 (The knights who say "Ni") 43 - 14
The whole match turned into an assault on a hill while my opponent tried to outflank me with his cavalry. In the end, the superior quality of my infantry made the difference. TY ITL913 for the nice match.

Match 4
P2A
oscarius (Macedonian) draws with Bagatrix1805
46 - 51 to the Macedonian's favour
My pikes and lancers took the hill from the Persians after a gruelling struggle but were unable to seal the deal as the nimble Persian cavalry escaped and the remaining Persian takabara and bowmen withdrew to safety in the swamps. Night fell with many dead or routed on both sides but no clear victor.
Two great games from a tough-as-nails opponent. Well-played.
