Research is a big part of scenario design. I don’t aim for perfect one-to-one historical accuracy, but I find real history to be a fascinating guide for shaping my scenarios. For example:
Tanks Historically Present at Bain-Tsagan (2–3 July 1939)

BT-7

Main Soviet battle tank at Khalkhin Gol.
Fast, numerous, heavily used in the bridgehead attack.

BT-5

Still common in the 11th Tank Brigade.
Used in both recon and main assault roles.

BT-7A (76mm)

Armed with the short 76 mm gun.
Used in indirect and direct support roles; small numbers.
Historically Involved Soviet Aircraft (Early July 1939 — Bain-Tsagan)

1. Polikarpov I-16 (Fighter)

Role:

Air superiority
Interception
Escort for SB bombers

2. Polikarpov I-15bis / I-153 "Chaika" (Fighter / Fighter-Bomber)

Role:
Dogfighting
Strafing cavalry
Supporting the bridgehead

3. Tupolev SB-2 (Fast Bomber)

Role:
High-speed bombing of Japanese armor
Bridgehead support

4. Polikarpov R-5 (Recon / Light Bomber)

Role:
Recon for BT tank columns
Occasional bombing or harassment runs

5. Tupolev TB-3 (Heavy Bomber / Transport)

Role:
Deep bombing runs
Drop supply missions
Making a scenario takes time, but seeing it come together and playable in the end is totally worth the effort.

Pretty tantalising teasers. Is this going to be a campaign (presumably for the IJA - or for the Soviets?), or just the two historical battles?

I'm still holding out hope for your returning one day to the Soviet DLC '43 ;) Or perhaps do a proper British campaign, starting with the Phoney War (planes dropping leaflets on Germany perhaps?), moving on to Norway and France. I liked Allied Corps, but it loses its way a bit once the US comes in (it loses its fun British focus), plus it skips the first year of the war altogether and the early war is probably my favourite - such a quirky mix of units.

But of course you're doing all the work, and I'm doing all the fantasising! I'm curious to see this IJA-Soviet clash scenario.

This is another good news as the real history though limits fantasies and alternatives but it is real and to repeat someone the way of the great commander is just fine )

We all appreciate that as a scenario designer you take your time and put the effort in to carefully construct your scenarios and campaigns. This is why all the Panzer Corps players love your work. It's always worth the effort (to us) and we don't mind the wait :)

Rising Thunder: Imperial General Order

By directive of His Imperial Majesty, the following order is issued to all formations operating along the Manchukuo–Mongolian frontier:

For many months, Soviet and Mongolian forces have violated the tranquility of the borderlands, pressing upon the Khalkhin Gol with growing strength. Their advances challenge not only the stability of the region, but the dignity and security of the Empire itself.

The Imperial Japanese Army is hereby commanded to restore order and safeguard the frontier. Reconnaissance elements will secure the river approaches; infantry and armor will advance to contain and drive back hostile incursions; air units will maintain vigilance over the battlefield and ensure the protection of our forces.

All officers and men are reminded that they act under the Imperial Standard. Discipline, unity, and decisive action are expected in every engagement. Let no post be abandoned, no opportunity neglected, and no adversary underestimate the determination of those who fight in service to His Majesty.

Conduct operations with precision and resolve. The Empire observes your efforts.

Imperial General Headquarters
By Order of His Majesty the Emperor

.
Rising Thunder: The Early Wars of Empire (1935–1940)
A New Panzer Corps Campaign

In the shadowed years before the world slid fully into global war, a different frontier smoldered in silence.
Far from Europe’s rising tension, Japan and the Soviet Union clashed again and again across the desolate steppes of Manchuria and Mongolia — a brutal series of engagements where cavalry still thundered across open plains, tanks bogged down in dust and heat, and air power began to show its decisive bite.

Rising Thunder brings this overlooked conflict to life, placing players in command of the Imperial Japanese Army during the escalating confrontations that culminated in the battles of Nomonhan and Khalkhin Gol. From early reconnaissance probes and small-unit firefights to the full-scale armored clashes that shook the riverbanks, the campaign follows Japan’s push to impose order on a fiercely defended frontier.

You will outmaneuver Mongolian cavalry on the open steppe, seize exposed river posts, and drive your spearhead toward the heart of the Soviet defensive line. With every scenario, the war grows larger, faster, and more desperate — echoing the real historical momentum of 1939, yet leaving room for a bold commander to change the course of events.

.
What if the Imperial Japanese Army had won the Battle of Khalkhin Gol?
.
Rising Thunder: Kaiserlicher Generalbefehl

und die Grenze zu sichern. Aufklärungseinheiten werden die Flusszugänge sichern;
Infanterie und Panzer werden vorstoßen, um feindliche Einbrüche einzudämmen und zurückzuwerfen;

erbittert verteidigten Grenze durchzusetzen.

Rising Thunder:
Panzer Corps

Rising Thunder

It seems to me that if the Japanese had won the battle of Lake Hasan 1938 and Khalkhin-Gol 1939 it would have led to ripe persimmons in 1941 !

What I learned watching Chinese and Korean films is that the best weapon the Japanese had against Allied tanks was kamikaze suicide bombers who threw themselves under enemy armoured vehicles with grenades and dynamite.)

My son played the French Campaign and he told me that the campaign ended suddenly after the 6th scenario where he rescued the Belgians.

Unzip in the data folder of the mod
I found an error in the campaign file which was only present in the preset core version.
I hope this helps.
