Re: BALTIC CAMPAIGN AD 1735
The King of Prussia greets the new Lion of the North and thanks him for his attempt to put a stop to this senseless massacre, although, to this end, it should first be necessary to recognize that only Poland was responsible for the violation of the Pax Baltica.
Nonetheless, he declares himself ready for a ceasefire that could pave the way for more serious negotiations and, during this turn, won’t attack Poland.
On the other hand, since it is evident that Poland and Denmark have forged a powerful alliance in order to subjugate Prussia, and that the latter has even invoked the intervention of Saxony in the dispute, the King of Sweden will certainly understand that such a provocation cannot remain without an adequate response, to protect our honor.
That said, the King of Prussia:
1) orders Requisitions to sustain the war effort
2) attacks Holstein from Brandenburg
3) send Reinforcements for the above attack
4) orders the construction of a Minor Fortress in Brandenburg
Suum cuique

SWEDEN
Beware the War fever.
I would urge you to look to the defense of your Homeland and Folk, foreign adventures are often fraught with setbacks and best left to professional Adventurers of ancient lineage.
Turn 2
1. Taxation
2. Propaganda
Trust in God, trust in blood, trust in iron.

Re: BALTIC CAMPAIGN AD 1735
In the interests of stability in the North and trusting the word of our Baltic neighbours Poland has decided on a period of reconstruction and development.
1/Propoganda
2/ Taxation
3/ a Major fort in Masovia
4/ a Garrison in Masovia

This is not the speech of a Lion but just the bad homily of a country parish priest!
I, the King of Prussia, firmly believe that when your honor is at stake every difficulty must be faced and when your country is in peril no risk can be avoided!

Re: BALTIC CAMPAIGN AD 1735
It would appear our banter with the King in Prussia has led to a breach of the peace. This recent discord is a betrayal of enlightenment ideals, having shocked and appalled philosophers and theologians across our realm. The lions of the north will defend the fatherland in an encounter battle.
As for decisions. Our most royal and serene sovereign, the King of the Danes chuses:
1) Requisition
2) Propaganda
3) Military Reform
4) (originally chose Truce with the Saxons but I forgot there is only holstein that connects us) - I will keep this decision if I must; if not I would ask to change my decision to counterattack from holstein to brandenberg.

Hi snooky51, the challenge for the encounter battle in Holstein has been launched.

Re: BALTIC CAMPAIGN AD 1735
A question....is it possible to do fiscal reform more than once as Gribol has just done?

Re: BALTIC CAMPAIGN AD 1735
Well, no, Military and Fiscal reforms are intended as single actions.
I didn't write it explictly, but I thought it was evident, so that, also in the summary of the turn, a section of it is specifically dedicated to clarify which Nation has already enacted or not a reform!
Didn't notice that gribol did it a second time because I haven't still prepared the sheet of the summary for the 2nd turn ...

Re: BALTIC CAMPAIGN AD 1735
So if you enact Military reform in say the second turn then you can perform 2 attacks in any later turn?
Re: BALTIC CAMPAIGN AD 1735
I have accepted, but did you want the counterattack as an encounter or open?Lysimachos wrote: ↑Tue Nov 11, 2025 7:39 pm Hi snooky51, the challenge for the encounter battle in Holstein has been launched.

gribol, of course, has the chance of making an alternative Action instead of the invalid one!Lysimachos wrote: ↑Tue Nov 11, 2025 9:27 pmWell, no, Military and Fiscal reforms are intended as single actions.

Re: BALTIC CAMPAIGN AD 1735
A messanger has arrived from Holstein carrying news about the situation developing there and a brief sketch drawn by an aide-de-camp of the Prussian commander.
As anyone can see, the fight has begun and is raging on the Prussian left flank and in the woods covering the centre of the battlefield while on the right flank the two armies are not still in contact
More news are expected soon!

Re: BALTIC CAMPAIGN AD 1735
And here is the sketch of what is evolving on the Brandenburger fields, with the two armies already clashing on the Prussian right flank and in the center, where the Danes have occupied a village and fortified it as the key point of their position.
