This fortress in Smaland is a direct provocation to the rightful King of all Scandinavia. By God's Teeth we will take appropriate action (in 2 years time) in response.

Calm yourself my friend, a few simple (minor) earthworks to keep the populace employed!
A redoubt here a fleche or two there, one can assure our ditches and banks will not be marching on Denmark anytime soon.

Please observe if you will, the situation on the Lithuania-Prussia border, real "provocation" march in real ranks and bare very real arms.
There is no casus belli here, only prudence.

Trust in God, trust in blood, trust in iron.

The King of Prussia observes that nervousness prevails in the Baltic area, if simple defensive measures are interpreted as a desire for expansion.

But, at the same time, it is necessary to note that, apart from the reckless Polish aggression, no one seems really intent on breaking the pax baltica, that each of the rulers enlightened by reason really aspires to!

I'm telling Emperor Charles that the King in Prussia has arrogated himself to being the King of Prussia. Perhaps the Elector of Saxony can do the Emperor's dirty work here

The King of Prussia:
- firmly believes that the House of Oldenburg should better worry about his illegitimate occupation of the duchies of Schleswig and Holstein (where the majority of citizens demands freedom and desires to serve under a German monarch), instead of meddling in matters that it isn’t equipped to handle because involving the relations between great powers, such as the Kingdom of Prussia and the Holy Roman Empire,
- and further warns that this deliberate interference in sovereign affairs will not go unanswered in due course.

Regarding, finally, the rumored intervention of Saxony to the detriment of Prussia, in addition to noting the lack of consideration in which the figure of the Elector is thus portrayed, as if he were a mere executor of the Emperor’s orders, the King of Prussia is confident that the peaceful relations existing between the two nations will not be disturbed by the hysterical charges moved by the Danish ruler.

It is now clear for the world to see, the ode to peace by the King IN Prussia was nothing but a ruse. This avaricious man desires Danish land. No doubt this brute intends to pay for same using mercenary blood. Perhaps this Teutonic King should focus on his affairs to the east and south instead of looking with a thief's eye to the north.

AD 1735
Encounter Battle in Prussia
Prussian – Polish 39% - 54%

Prussian tactical victory

The Prussian forces, incited by the example of their King, resolutely awaited the arrival of the invading enemy coming from high ground, pounding them with a ferocious gun fire. A fierce encounter ensued in the woods placed around the left Polish flank, that ended in a substantial stalemate. Meanwhile, on the other flank, the enemy cavalry, engulfed in a restricted area, was obliged to retreat with heavy losses after a brisk fight, leaving uncovered the center, where the Polish units, initially prevailing, then suffered a hard lateral blow, finally retreating, but always in good order, demonstrating their prowess and valour.

So ends the insane attempt of stealing lands rightfully owned by the glorious King of Prussia!

Reports just in from the front lines in Lithuania that the hastily assembled local levies have repulsed a massive attack from the dastardly Prussian Empire.
The invaders brought a large number of cannons which wrecked havoc on the Poles, but they held out stubbornly and eventually ground the inavders down. Loses were heavy on both sides but the Motherland has been saved and the German swine have retreated to Prussia with their tales definitely pointing downwards.

Mutual destruction with both armies tipping over after being 46% in the penultimate turn.

AD 1735
Open Battle in Lithuania
Prussian – Polish 50% - 55%

Draw

The Prussian conscript army, hastily assembled to counter-attack on the Polish soil while the seasoned veterans withstood the enemy onslaught in Prussia, been gladfully welcomed by the peasants and citizens of the province, eager to shake off the Polish yoke, became to lose cohesion with the young soldiers only caring of courting the Lithuanian girls and everybody drinking in the pubs as the war seemed to be over before starting, without the officers were able to reestablish a proper discipline.

So, when the enemy army approached in the morning mist, whit the bulk of his forces concentrated on the left flank, the lines hurriedly arrayed in this place were unable to sustain the pressure and completely imploded leaving the center exposed to the rolling volleys of rifle fire and cavalry charges coming from different directions. Nor did it help the presence of the artillery that hampered the movement of several units.

Anyway, though suffering appalling losses, the center partially held the ground until the units of right flank, got rid of inferior Polish forces stationed in that area, were able to rescue the exhausted comrades and save the day, at the end of which both armies broke off combat as if by mutual consent.

The entire army, now back in Prussia, was then confined in punishment barracks and new tactical doctrines about the use of artillery are being studied in the military academies.

SWEDEN

Sweden humbly puts itself forward as a fair and impartial arbitrator so as to resolve this dispute and end this needless bloodshed. If both parties will come together and negotiate in good faith order can be restored, fears assuaged and honour satisfied. A result His Majesty knows all involved yearn for.
