German Voice Mod: English with a German Accent

Headquarters World War II is a fast-paced turn-based strategy game where your battlefield tactics are as important as your army management skills. Experience both sides of the war, battling in Europe as the USA, the UK, or Germany.

German Voice Mod: English with a German Accent

Post by Tomcattwo »

In Headquarters - World War II by Sliterine Software UK Ltd., when playing the German side, Slitherine made the design decision to do all German voices spoken in English with a very British accent. To me, this sounded sort of off-putting. I expected the German voices spoken in English, to have a German accent. So, I decided to mod the voices to do just that.

This mod replaces all German voices spoken in English (both the Normandy Campaign and the normal game "barks") with a new voice speaking English with a German accent. The speaker for "Konrad Kolz" is named Hans, and he works for Amazon (hint: I used Amazon Polly Text-to-Speech engine for this conversion).

There are two versions I have prepared: One is for those using JSGME with Headquarters - World War II. The other version is for those who do not use JSGME and wish to install this mod manually.

Downloads:
Manual Installation Version:
German Voice Mod_English with German Accent_251031

JSGME Version:
German Voice Mod for JSGME_English with German Accent_251031

I also posted the download links on the Steam Discussion for Headquarters - World War II.

Note: Use this mod at your own risk. ALWAYS save your original files in a safe place (or use JSGME) before making any modifications.

I also plan to do the same mod for the Ardennes DLC. I'll release that in a new thread when it is ready.

Please post any questions or comments in this thread.
Regards,
