Friends, I also found this, but I’m not sure if it’s enough just for adding units. What are your ideas?

Yes, that's a link that I send you previously. It should help you.
However, I see that you are struggling a lot with it, maybe you should try another project first and return to army creation once you are more experimented ? You know how to create cool maps, why not going further and tranform them into real scenarios, for example ?

Hi my friend, could you create the country Slovakia for me based on this? I don’t have the nerves for it anymore — I might be able to add the military units myself. I’ll copy the guide here for you again. Thank you.
BiteNibbleChomp wrote:
How do you add a country in Panzer Corps?
I am attempting to add Czechoslovakia for the purpose of a 1938 campaign.
Do you need it additionally to the existing countries at all costs? Otherwise it would be much easier to modify an existing country to Cze.
For this, pick a country from the game you don't need, then edit its name to "Czechoslovakia" in the strings.pzdat file in Data/
Then you need to change the various gfx showing the flag to have a Czech flag:
- one in the "flags" file under Graphics/Overlays/
- one in UI/Flags
- one in UI/Purchase/Flags
Then give your Czech units the number code of the country you changed for this in the equipment.pzdat
IIRC that would be all in this way (tho it has been a while so maybe I forgot something). Backups for everything you change are highly recommended of course.
There's a second way to really add a completely new country without modifying an older one, but it's way more work and more error-prone, and could need rework with new patches. However, if the above isn't enough for you I can see to post more on this.
Re: Modern Conflicts –Maps by Tomáš
Unfortunately, I never tried it and I'm already overwhelmed by my own projects to try to do it for you
I am sure it is a good guide since it was written by one of the most experimented modder around, but I have never tried it myself.
If it is too hard to understand this guide, the best advice I can offer to you is to start with something more simple and return to it once you understand better how the game work ; sorry

Hi friends, I’m already desperate. I’ve been trying this for half a day following the guide. I made the flag, resized it, changed the country, replaced it with “Slovakia,” added units, then placed it in the folder and activated it in JSGME, and nothing happened. I’ll attach a photo showing how I wrote it. I set the ID to Slovakia = 69, copied other equipment, changed the ID, and nothing. I also added more at the bottom of the list. I’m attaching a photo. Please give me advice on how to do this, or if someone can make a working “Slovakia” for me, I would appreciate it. I’ll add the units myself. Thanks.

There is a Slovak company here can you just stretch your creativity on an already finished template * ?

You can replace the WWII units with Slovak units ) I don't quite remember if there is a modern Slovak army in modern conflicts )
Moreover, border conflicts are always relevant, no matter what war is fought, someone is bound to be dissatisfied with the way the borders were divided )

Thanks for sending it. I play Modern Conflicts and I followed the guide on how to add new units. I want modern Slovakia in the game. I also checked the strings.pzdat file, and Slovakia is there with ID69, which I left as is. Regarding flags, I put them in two folders, one of which already had the Slovak flag.
Then I started in the equipment file, changed the name of one country from Abkhazia to Slovakia, copied some units, and changed their IDs—I wanted to use the originals from other countries. As you can see in the pictures.
I saved everything, put it into the folder, and tried it with JSGME, but nothing happened. Then I tried putting it in Mods/Data for MC, again nothing. I have no experience and no guides on what else needs to be done.
Ideally, it would be best to follow a video tutorial. The point is that I want the units I added to also be purchasable in the in-game unit shop. I didn’t even see them in the editor. I’m tired of this. Thanks.

Hi Tomas45
I’ve been following this thread for a while, and I get the impression that you expect a lot of things to be explained in a very short time.
Please remember that this is a gaming community, not a personal support service. Most people here are players, and only a few are modders who learned everything through long hours of trial and error.
It also seems that you’re very focused on achieving your goal as quickly as possible, which makes it easy to overlook the good advice that people like Imeror or Usbek have already shared with you. Statements like “I’m desperate,” “I don’t have the nerves anymore,” “I’m tired of this,” or “I have no experience and no guides” were the point where I started to think about the situation.
Such words clearly show that you’re currently feeling more frustration than enjoyment in what you’re doing – and that’s a pity, because modding is supposed to be fun.
Even if this might make me unpopular, I’d like to step back from this discussion from now on. I wish you the best of luck with your project — but patience and small steps will help you much more than any shortcut ever could.
Good luck!

Re: Modern Conflicts –Maps by Tomáš
I unfortunately agree a bit with Tobi, even if I'll not go that far.
I understand this is frustrating, but the community is rather small and not everything is always well documented.
We can give advices on ponctual things, but we (me, at least
) don't know everything, and can't lead a whole project for you
I repeat my advice : you should consider starting a smaller project with easiest goals and consider to return towards your initial project as your knowledge about the game improve.
I just take my own example.
First, I did maps ; I quickly added flags, victory points, prestige points, etc... and I did 1v1 against myself on them (don't laught, fight against ourselves it's a good way to understand how our moves can be lame from the other point of view
). Like you do, currently
On this basis, I decided to try to simulate a computer ennemy, by putting different AI stance to each units.
It was good enough, and I decided to work on my WWIII project, with scenarios that I will release and that I want better and better as I progress in my understanding of the game.
Firstly, they were just map packs : the scenarios were not linked between them ; but I learned how to do campaigns after 3 or 4 of them.
During my 4rd campaign, I decided to try to make modifications to the equipment file ; around my 6th to modify unit icons ; to make localizations in different languages (learned, but finally not used that much
) ; soon after to add different soundtracks ; etc etc...
Now, I'm considering to add heroes for nations that had none ; and on the longer run to create new armies and units from scratch instead of using existing assets, like you try to do.
I still don't know exactly how to do it, but I start to know the game enough to understand how I could potentially do it.
Even if it is far, I can consider it because I advanced step by step ; and at each step, I had to find a solution, forcing me to put my hands in the motor and understand how it is running
I had problems to add images when I started ; now I consider it a very basic thing to do and could do it in 3 minutes with a chronometer in hand and without thinking about it at all
You could also look the first map pack Tobi's created : they were enjoyable, but far to be perfect.
1 year later ? Ha ! he is doing full campaigns including scenarios with complex scripts, interesting gameplay choices, new unique units, one of these campaigns even have an army of robots he created himself ! And should I talk again about his "Adventures in Afghanistan" ?
He also made a long road since his start here ! As he say, there are no shortcut.
Your two maps looks really great, that's a good start.
I guess it is not what you want to read, but you could (should?) improve on this basis. I don't insist about it without any reason, I think it will help you to progress with how the game work.
What about doing smaller maps and start to put units on them ?

I’m sorry if I said or did something that made you feel uncomfortable — it was never my intention.
I really appreciate the time and effort you and others have spent trying to help me. Maybe I sometimes sound frustrated, but that’s only because I really want to understand and learn how things work.
I didn’t mean to ignore any advice — I just get lost sometimes, since there are so many details and no clear guide.
I honestly enjoy talking with you guys and I’d like to keep communicating and learning from you if that’s still possible.
I didn’t want to cause any trouble or stress to anyone.
Thanks again for your patience and help!
Best regards,

Hi
Thank you very much for your message — I really appreciate that you took the time to write such a detailed reply and to share your own story.
It actually helps me a lot, because now I see that everyone had to start small and learn step by step.
Maybe I was too focused on finishing everything quickly instead of just enjoying the process. You’re right — I should take smaller steps and use what I already did as a base to improve.
I didn’t want to make anyone tired of helping me, I just sometimes feel lost because there are so many files and no clear guide.
But your example really motivates me — and also thank you for saying my maps look great, that means a lot.
I’ll try to go slowly and keep learning.
Thanks again for your patience and kindness.
Best regards,
Tomas45

Hi friends! A new map is on the horizon
I’m planning to release it on Wednesday — it’s the Korean Peninsula map. The Allies are the USA and Japan, and North Korea’s allies are Russia and China. The map size is 150x150. I’ll share a few pictures soon.

Thank you, my friend. I want to ask. I’m thinking about making a map, just adjusting it, from the year 1946 up to today, 2025. Are there units that could be used, for example, from 1946 to 2000? I would make smaller maps. And the question is, is it possible to somehow mix armies, for example from Korea and Vietnam, and also from the Cold War, into a mod and the MC editor? Thanks.

The Vietnam army is not in any form in the Modern Conflicts mod ) For the rest, alas I am not an expert but I remember our friend Toby72 changed the units of the Second World War Germans to Russian and American modern units in vanilla maps about the capture of the west coast of the United States !Tomas45 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 28, 2025 7:55 am-----------------------------bondjamesbond wrote: ↑Tue Oct 28, 2025 6:56 am

Hello friends,
the map of the Korean Peninsula is officially finished!
It took 3 days of work, and its size is 150x150.
I’m attaching a picture, and if anyone’s interested, I’ll post a download link — just let me know.
Thank you,
Tomáš

I’ll also add that on the map you can find real political prison camps — the last picture shows Camp 22.

I’m attaching a picture, and if anyone’s interested, I’ll post a download link — just let me know.
Thank you,
Tomáš
I’ll also add that on the map you can find real political prison camps — the last picture shows Camp 22.
