Another would be Fallschirm-Panzer-Division Herman Göring, but with him being such a prominent Nazi I wonder if that is a bit too close to home as well. A third Panzer Division that was elite was the Panzer-Lehr Division. However, it had a rather short and unsuccessful history unlike Großdeutschland. A Fallschirmjäger Elite DLC would also offer all kinds of different interesting scenarios and history that begins in 1940. Perhaps that can be stretched into a 20-25 scenario DLC/campaign? Lots of different routes through the war that the designers could take.

I am all in on the concept of a dedicated paratrooper themed DLC, be it German, American or British. The game already supports having customized cores for a campaign, so there's really not issue tailoring the available units that fit the idea. This could also prevent exploits like landing with a towed 7.5cm and upgrading it to a StuG on a supply hex. Then there's the fact that German paratroopers fought as regular infantry later in the war, so the tone could shift at least for their operations. In essence, there's room for trying it out in a dedicated campaign. For sure not a long one, but certainly unique and offering challenges usually not that common in the game. It would be something really fresh, but perhaps too unique to be worth it?

Well this thread got me thinking - what the hell am I doing here? And I came up with three simple facts:

1. I’m all up for wargames being accurate. I have no problems with swastikas and red flags if they are accurate, and I’m also not a fan of adding gay people or people of colour when in reality nothing like this happened back then. Lots of wars were fight largely by white males, so no drama here. It is what it is.

2. USSR was not glorious. It was one of the countries that started WW2 together with the nazis. It was betrayed by the nazis and managed to fight back largely due to Allied support. And just as WW2 ended it occupied a huge part of Europe and started the Cold War. Mr. Uzbek here is clearly a product of Soviet/Russian propaganda, so it’s hard for him to acknowledge these truths and he’ll just push his own agenda drop-by-drop, accusing everybody else to be nazis and liberals.

3. And I’m all up for keeping the politics out. Ir tomorrow a big Wehrmacht expansion goes live and someone comes here and posts something like “Hey, thanks for respecting the proper champions, guys.” I will greet him with the same hostility. There’s nothing cool about cheering for autocracies, tyrannies and all the wrong shit humanity did along the way.

So yes — let’s keep politics our and let’s not cheer for glorious victories committed by rather inglorious countries.
