I have some very sad news to impart to FOG players.
The captain of the Charming Champians team in the World Team Championship, Steve Webster (Infinitude), sadly passed away on the 2nd of October, shortly before the second round of the tournament. He had been seriously ill for a while but had always been positive in contributing to the team and enjoying the FOG games. A measure of that was his contribution in the first round match.
I’m sure many of you will have played him and enjoyed the games over the years.
Mike (Triarii) has very kindly agreed to step into his place in our team in order to enable the competition to continue.
Ian Gibson (Morat) Ian Salisbury (Stones1985) and Ian MacDonald (Captain Walter Savage)

Re: Infinitude (Steve Webster)
I did not know him but we brawled over many green fields and steep hills, I shall remember.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

My condolences
I had a few games with him, always a good partner.

Re: Infinitude (Steve Webster)
I knew Steve well — at least virtually. When I started playing FoG years ago, he was one of the first players I came into contact with. He was a very kind and always helpful person. He constantly offered me great tips and advice and helped me learn the basics of the game in a short time. We talked a lot during the COVID period and played many games together. He was a fountain of ideas and had even written several books. He told me about his illness last year, and I truly hoped he would recover. I’m really very sorry, especially for not having been in touch with him over the past few months (for personal reasons I haven’t been active on the forum or played FoG for quite some time). I want to offer my deepest condolences to his family.
Goodbye Steve, rest in peace.
