Problem with Sea Lion 40 in the Wehrmacht campaign

Post by liningning23 »

I recently started up Panzer Corps with the intent to play through all of the campaigns on Rommel level, which I’ve done before years ago. US Corps and Allied Corps are completed (DVs all the way through), but the vanilla Wehrmacht campaign is causing me problems, particularly Sea Lion 40, which has changed somehow.

If you watch Braccada’s youtube playthrough https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rB3KCMP ... P&index=12, the coastal city Dover features a lone infantry who comes out of the city to attack a naval transport. Reaching London on turn 5, the defensive front line contains one big artillery and one big flak. This fits my memories of the scenario when I played it and won a DV years ago.

Playing in 2025 however, the city of Dover on Turn 1 immediately buys a big gun, a big flak and an AT, which makes it much more difficult to capture quickly. Reaching London on turn 6 at best, I’m facing not one, not two, but THREE big guns and two big flaks. This occurs even when I don’t deploy landing troops anywhere near Dover (I tested it).

I’ve tried several different approaches and strategies but nothing works, at least not quickly enough. I’ve gotten an MV, but it seems impossible to get a DV under these conditions. I know every detail of this scenario, where every enemy is, what attacks will occur and when, I win the air war and the sea war, yet still can’t manage a DV.

Does anyone know what’s going on here?

I would re-post in the general Panzer Corps section.
Chances are higher to get an answer there than here under thr AAR section.
