Re: Campaigns for Modern Conflicts
Well, the demo campaign isn't among the top five downloads, but I decided to give it a chance and continue working on it. With a decent mission list, rather than a mini-campaign, I hope to entice a few more players out from behind the couch.

Re: Campaigns for Modern Conflicts
Number of downloads on a new project don't tell anything about it's quality. To have an opinion about a campaign, people need to try it first ; so I just think that the setting was too surprising for players used to the more "realistic" scenarios that you usually offer.
It's nice that it don't discourage you. My poor British chapters (campaigns) were downloaded only 66 and 33 times each, that doesn't mean I will stop their adventures ! Even my newest Europe chapter 2 is already more downloaded than my UK one
Sometimes people want to try, and sometimes they pass to play something else ; and we'll never know why something we made is less successful than something we also made previously
I tried your demo Sunday and enjoyed it (besides its small size
), and I have just one suggestion for a real campaign with this setting.
Abrams felt a bit overpowered for a Resistance faction. I explain my thoughts :
- the lack of engineer to attack the nexus grid was a cool idea, it represent the Humans that desperately want to cross the perimeter and run to their death to overwelm the AI defenses. It gave a desperate feeling for the first mission, that everything is already lost and only sending corpses can overwelm the superior AI ;
- The A-10 used both in anti-air and anti-ground gave the same feeling of desperation : we need something to counter the advanced flying machines, so we send our last things that can still fly against them, even if they are not made for that task ;
- Behind each grid, numerous robots await our troops. We are obviously the underdog and are outmatched both in quantity and quality.
And then, we have the Abrams. After the first urban scenario, we are in the open and can deploy Abrams freely. All that feeling of desperation dissapears as our modern MBTs roll unchallenged on the battlefield and crush every Nexus units one after another.
I'd suggest either to nerf them or to made them non purchasable, being only gifts if the player capture old depots or as precious reinforcements from other resistance cells.
That was my personal feedback
Anyway, you can count on me and Bond to repel the hostile AI. Our pulse rifle are ready, just give the go when you are ready

You're absolutely right – download numbers don't say much about quality, and I'm all the more pleased that you tried the demo and even enjoyed it. I deliberately wanted to convey this feeling of despair in the face of superior machine power – I'm glad it resonated with you. Regarding the Abrams: You raised a very good point. As soon as he comes into play, the atmosphere naturally shifts, and the "underdog" feeling disappears somewhat. I can incorporate your idea of it being more of a rare "special reward" or reinforcements from depots into future missions. With the engineer units, which aren't immediately available and can easily destroy the electric fences, I've already taken the right approach. I'll think about a few more things. Thanks again for your thoughts.

The Nexus universe is growing.
There's also something new for the Resistance: the armored bridge launcher and portable Stinger anti-aircraft system. More will follow. For example, bonus vehicles with special features.

Re: Campaigns for Modern Conflicts
Okay, I've decided to translate the victory conditions and clues into German/Russian/English and French. I hope that helps a bit. I haven't decided on the briefings yet; they're currently in German and English.
Don't get too excited, because it's translation with Google; with DeepL I've reached the limit until next month.

Translation in French is perfect (for this sentence at least) : so Google seems to work fine.
If you prefer to work with a human (and not trust those future terminators that want to make us believe they work for us), I can do the french version, briefings included. I've done russian localization previously on some of my chapters, I know how to do it

Re: Campaigns for Modern Conflicts
Unfortunately, I can't give an exact date yet. I've finished new buildings, as seen in the image above, as well as new units for the Resistance that need to be tested, and I think there will be more missions than the announced 15. So, there's been quite a bit of work, and there's still more to do. For example, translating the briefings into Russian and Imeror into French will take some time, if I decide to do it.bondjamesbond wrote: ↑Mon Sep 15, 2025 11:53 pmStill, it's better than nothing ) Will this terminator mod be ready soon ? )Tobi72 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 15, 2025 4:46 pm Okay, I've decided to translate the victory conditions and clues into German/Russian/English and French.
