You have a great mini company about Cuba ! It would be even better if you updated it using different mods that have come out not a few ! Good luck and thanks for your hard work )

On 15 April 1961, eight Douglas A-26B Invader aircraft belonging to anti-government forces carried out strikes on Cuban Air Force bases in three groups. The aircraft took off from Puerto Cabezas airfield (Nicaragua) between 02:30 and 03:00 and, after reaching an altitude of 2,500 metres, set course for their targets. Each aircraft carried two 230 kg penetration bombs, ten 90 kg fragmentation bombs, eight RS and 2,800 rounds of ammunition. The forces were distributed as follows:

- A pair of A-26Bs, consisting of Captain Gonzalo Herrera and Captain Gustavo Ponzoa, flew to the Santiago de Cuba airfield and attacked it, causing significant damage (five aircraft were reported destroyed, including one C-47). As a result of return fire, both aircraft sustained minor damage but were able to return to Nicaragua.

- A trio of A-26Bs consisting of Captain José Crespo, Captain Daniel Fernández Mon, and Captain Osvaldo Piedra attacked the airport in Havana, where the Cuban Air Force headquarters was located. One of the attackers was hit by return fire from anti-aircraft gunners as it exited the attack at 10:55. The aircraft exploded in the air and fell into the sea 32 km north of Havana. The crew, consisting of pilot Captain Daniel Fernández Mon and navigator Gastón Pérez, was killed. Two other A-26Bs in the group were damaged by small arms fire and made emergency landings (one in the Cayman Islands, the other in the United States at Key West Airfield). The damaged aircraft were repaired the next day and flew back to their base in Nicaragua.

- The third group of A-26Bs, consisting of crews led by Captain Luis Cosme, Captain Rene Garcia, and Captain Alfredo Caballero, struck the San Antonio de Los Banos airfield. After inflicting significant damage, all aircraft returned to base without loss or damage.

17 April 1961
- A Douglas A-26B Invader FAR915 aircraft belonging to the anti-government forces, piloted by Captain Matías Farías and navigator Eduardo González, was shot down. Operating as part of a pair, it provided direct support to the landing force in the Playa Larga area, remaining over the landing site for up to three hours (!). It was attacked from behind and shot down by Cuban Air Force T-33A jet fire at around 09:00. One of the aircraft's engines caught fire, and Captain Farias attempted to make an emergency landing at the Giron airfield, during which the aircraft was destroyed and caught fire. The pilot survived and was evacuated two days later, but the navigator was killed.

- At 14:15, a Douglas A-26B Invader aircraft belonging to the anti-government forces, piloted by Captain Raul Vianello and navigator Dimitrio Perez, was shot down. After completing an attack on a column and field headquarters of government forces in the area of the Australia sugar plantation, it set course for base, gaining altitude. At that moment, it was attacked from behind by a Cuban Air Force T-33A jet and caught fire. The pilot tried to steer the damaged aircraft towards his own ships, but the aircraft lost control and crashed into the sea. Only the navigator managed to escape, using a parachute.

- A Douglas A-26B Invader aircraft belonging to the anti-government forces, piloted by Captain Osvaldo Piedra and navigator José Fernández, was shot down. The aircraft was shot down as a result of an attack by a Cuban Air Force T-33A jet in the area of the Australia sugar plantation. Both died as a result of the explosion in the air.

- A Douglas A-26B Invader aircraft belonging to anti-government forces, piloted by Captain José Crespo and navigator Lorenzo Pérez-Lorenzo, was shot down. The aircraft sustained combat damage to its engine and radio equipment. The pilot set course for the base at low altitude, but lost his way due to the lack of compass readings. The last radio report was a message that there was enough fuel for 10 minutes of flight, the crew was preparing to abandon the aircraft, and there was no land in sight. They were reported missing.

- Cuban Air Force B-26C bomber No. 923 shot down. The aircraft was supposed to attack enemy ships from which troops were being landed at Playa Girón. Directly above the target, the aircraft was hit by ship-based anti-aircraft fire and fell into the water, breaking up in the air. The crew, consisting of pilot Luis Silva Tablad, navigator cadet, flight engineer Reynaldo Fabian Galaynen, and gunner Martin Torres Ruiz, were killed.

- At 09:00, a Hawker Sea Fury FB11 No. 543 fighter of the Cuban Air Force (San Antonio de los Banos airfield). The aircraft, piloted by Senior Lieutenant Carlos Ulloa Arauz, was presumably hit by enemy A-26B or ship-based anti-aircraft fire, lost control and crashed into the sea. The pilot was killed.

- A Douglas A-26B Invader FAR933 aircraft belonging to anti-government forces and piloted by Captain Crispin Garcia crashed. While flying from Key West (USA) to Puerto Cabezas (Nicaragua), the aircraft veered off course and crashed into the jungle in the province of Jinotega, Nicaragua. Both crew members were killed. The take-off was made at 22:48, after which Captain Garcia did not make contact. The aircraft crashed after completely running out of fuel, shortly after midnight local time. The collision occurred with a 300-metre hill slope, on a course of 210. The wreckage was not found until November 1961. Both crew members were killed.

On 19 April 1961, two Douglas A-26B Invader aircraft belonging to anti-government forces were shot down. To provide air cover for the evacuation of troops defeated in the Playa Larga area, three pairs of A-26s took off from Puerto Cabezas airfield. Four of the aircraft were piloted directly by US military advisers from the 117th TRW of the National Guard (Alabama). Directly above the target, the aircraft were met by Cuban Air Force T-33A jets, and as a result of their attack, two A-26Bs were shot down. The crew, consisting of Maj. Riley Shamburger and navigator Wade Gray, was killed. The crew of FAR935, consisting of pilot Thomas Ray and navigator Leo Baker, managed to make an emergency landing on the beach. Both were killed in the ensuing ground battle.

Answering bondjamesbond:

Not sure what the "mini company about Cuba" remark means, but I have no plans to add new mods to either of the Bay of Pigs scenarios (historical & as-planned operations). At least 70% of the work that went into them (over the course of 3 years) was for the crafting and testing of the 130 scripts necessary to adapt the game engine for the conditions (notably, causeway-restricted movements) being simulated. Without them, gameplay becomes static and senseless. My aim was to create scenarios that approximated the historical conditions of the battle as closely as possible. Beyond that, I'm not interested in increasing the "frills" factor with additional mods but you and others are certainly welcome to do so if so inclined. Thanks!

Your point of view is now clear to me ! You have created a good map about the real events in Cuba and for this you have a huge respect and also a big + your karma that you allow any interested person to finalise your project, perhaps such heroes will still appear ) Good luck to you and all the blessings !
