Radar on airplanes

Hello. I have a question. I have been looking for West Allies Radar and it has the "radar" flag and a spotting value of 4. I suppose the 4 is the radar spotting range. But if I select the radar flag for a unit (example: Bf110G) what will be the results. Does it has a bonus on initiative, air attack or air defense for friendly players around this range? Sorry, I can't remember where I read about it. Thanks.
