principesromanes (Lithuanian 1100-1299 AD with Baltic Tribes 1050-1283 AD allies) defeats NeroWolfe (German (South/East) 1200-1319 AD) 36-0 (surrendered, so I believe scored 40-0)
The map had a fairly large lake right in the middle of it. On one side it was open. On the other side there was a large rough patch. The Germans deployed with their knights on the open side, and their weaker but more numerous infantry flank defending the rough. The Lithuanians fully committed to fighting in the rough, and some archery weakned much of the German infantry before contact, ensuring the German medium foot quickly collapsed. That left the flank open on some dismouted men at arms, who in any event, had started fighting in the rough because they had no other option to engage the enemy.
Meanwhile, the German knights rode the long way around the lake – only to find their opponents sitting in rough terrain and waiting with arrows.
Thanks for the game!

principesromanes (Lithuanian 1100-1299 AD with Baltic Tribes 1050-1283 AD allies) defeats Asterix_von_TWC (Byzantine 1155-1204 AD with Crusader 1155-1291 AD allies) 47-10
The Byzantine army led with some knights, which looked rather scary to the Lithuanian archers and Baltic foot allies, especially since the Byzantine advance prevented the Lithuanian army reaching and anchoring itself in a patch of rough on one side of the battlefield. The Lithuanian army deployed in echelon, with the more forward flank fairly bristling with archers supported by Baltic foot, while the other wing was far more loosely held with cavalry alone – ready to give ground if needed.
However, as the Byzantine army led with its knights, the stronger Lithuanian wing was able to pummel them with arrows, causing most to disrupt before contact. Most of the knights on that wing lacked sufficient support and did not last long. Meanwhile, the knights on the other wing drove off some Lithuanian cavalry, and happily chased it to the edge of the map while the main battle occurred.
When the Byzantine infantry arrived, the victorious archers were in a position to welcome it with another volley or two of arrows, but at this point mostly relied on superior numbers (and maneuverability) to envelop and outflank.
Thanks for the game!

principesromanes (Lithuanian 1100-1299 AD with Baltic Tribes 1050-1283 AD allies) defeats solemnace (Baltic Tribes 1050-1283 AD) 40-8
The Lithuanians again deployed in echelon, with a fortuitous deployment resulting in my stronger wing being on the opposite side of the battle field from the Baltic picked warriors. In pressing hard on my preferred flank, I even managed to sneak some Lithuanian cavalry around the rear of the horde or opposing Baltic foot. Coupled with one or two disruptions on the opposing Baltic foot before making contact, the battle was off to a solid start.
Until first contact, where one of my far fewer Baltic foot promptly decided to fragment on contact and thus quickly broke, exposing the Lithuanian archers to the horde of opposing Baltic foot. Fortunately, the archers held better and were able to await help from my flanking cavalry, thus starting to roll up that wing of the Baltic army. And, as I was very well aware at that point, warriors can collapse very quickly.
Meanwhile, I managed to anchor my weaker flank on a steep hill. This had the unusual result of allowing my Lithuanian light spear cavalry to hold against the opposing picked Baltic foot.
Definitely an interesting match up and thanks for the game! A nice break from all the knights that seem to go running around in these battles.

Nijis (Lithuanians/Teutonic knights) defeats Triarii (Castilians/Leonese) 46-12.
The Castilians fielded a large force of knights backed by jinetes, and other skirmishers and a handful of Muslim mercenaries. After some maneuvering, both sides were drawn into a chaotic melee on the open ground, which should have seen the Lithuanian bowmen and their spear-armed horsemen crushed by the armored Spanish knights. Everywhere, though, it was as if the Iberian lances were blunted, with Lithuanian horse, foot spears and even bowmen standing their ground and wearing the knights down. The Lithuanians could only attribute their victory to the intervention of Perkunas, and their Teutonic allies to the whims of fortune.
Very hard to say how this one would have gone had not the Lithuanians received very luck die rolls.

Division B
SawyerK leading the Syro-Canaanite 1207-1100 BC army and Egyptian 1149 BC ally
defeated
rockmanbob123 and his Philistine 800-600 BC army with Kushite ally
by 62 to 50.
The Syro-Canaanites used a patch of rough ground on their right flank to embed their swordsmen and archers, and had success from there against the Philistine medium foot. But the Philistine heavy chariots and Foot Guard troops proved almost unbeatable. The battle saw-sawed back and forth until the Canaanite light chariots took their toll on the remaining Philistine medium foot. I was glad to arrive at 60 and see the last of those heavy chariots.

Nijis (Lithuanians) defeats Lunecastle (Aragonese) 61-48.
The Aragonese force divided into left and right wings, while the Lithuanians pushed the majority of their troops up the middle. The result was a confused scrum almost from the beginning, in which the Lithuanians prevailed more by luck than anything else.
