Habsburgs are loveable really

Greetings gentlemen,

I am setting up a new tournament covering the Habsburgs from the early 16th Century until the early 18th Century.

Players will be either Habsburg or one of the historical enemies of the Habsburgs of Spain or the Holy Roman Empire.

So there will be 2 teams of up to 6 players in each team. There are 6 battles set roughly 40 years apart. No historical battles this time, just large encounter battles. There will normally be at least 2 armies to choose from. You will play a new player in each round if there are 5 or 6 players in a team.

So if you are interested please let me know by PM or preferably on here, advising if you want to be a Habsburg (good guy) or one of the villainous traitors to Order and Harmony and the Catholic Church

We will start the campaign with 4 players on each side, others can join at a later date provided there is one player for each side added at a time.

The Habsburgs in all their Glory are; awesum4, SMJohnso77, KiwiWarlord and Ahuyton

The Anti-Habsburg is their rebellious unholy alliance are; TyroneC, Doyley50, Gribol, and Dilly.

Round 1 covers 1519-1555 and coincides pretty closely to the rule of the Emperor Charles V of Austria and Spain (and 1 and 2 of various realms.

Players will fight large open battles in agricultural terrain using armies from the extra nations version 3.

The Habsburgs can choose any one of the following armies; Spanish Imperialist 1519-1533, Spanish Imperialist 1534-1542, or Hungarian 1494-1526

The Antis can chose any one of the following armies; Ottoman Turk 1494-1559, French 1494-1525, Italian 1494-1530, German Peasants 1524-1526

So please either post your choice of army here or send me a PM, once everyone has selected their army I will do the draw for the first round.

May I suggest that each army can only be selected once per team to add variety to our gameplay (except for the Demon Habsburg League, for which one army can be represented twice)?

I think Gribo's suggestion is a good one.

This round the antis must each choose a different army with Tyrone having already chosen the German Peasants.

I will use Spanish Imperialist 1519-1533, the others must each choose a different one of the armies available.

There are only 3 armies for the Habsburgs in your list - perhaps we can just have free choice, more fun that way.
