Score 13-52

Only a victory because woods hid a large Andalusian missile force that eventually and with difficulty shot the Arabs of an important hill and flanked the Arab spears. Very close until the final collapse.

We agreed to continue on a mountainous map with two narrow passes - one wooded. It was interesting indeed. The Polish force split into two but a mostly mounted Castillian force, with a much shorter distance between the passes, concentrated on the one force which had come out of the woods. That was only just defeated before the second Polish force arrived not helped by reckless Castillian generals charging onto Polish lances and a real lesson (from R) in very effective defence against superior numbers and troops. Thanks for very tough game.

This turned on a big difference in missile effectiveness. Massed longbows with properly sharpened bodkins and a very useful hill seemed to be able to hit everything ruinously. Meanwhile the Ottoman bombards seemed to have had wet gun powder and many of the archers wet bow strings. Mc deserves a full refund on the guns in particular.
