cromlechi Polish 1155-1199 AD with German (North/West) 1155
defeats
mcfcivo Crusader 1100 - 1117 w Syrian States
44/4
My opponent bravely crossed a stream and assaulted a built up area with his cavalry only to get shot up badly. This proved his undoing and an early bath. Sporting opponent who on reflection felt he should have gone for the reroll. Given the composition of the forces and the terrain I would agree.

Division C
Ironclad French 888-1049 AD and Viking 790-_899 AD allies defeated SirMichael German 888-932 AD 55-23
The battlefield comprised patches of rough terrain and woods dispersed amongst plain areas and the opposing sides adopted differing approaches - the Germans being infantry heavy whilst the French had a significant cavalry component. The thinly held French defensive line surprisingly and with good luck managed to hold up the German infantry advance long enough to allow their powerful cavalry left wing to outflank their opposition and to break into the enemy rear where the damage inflicted led to a decisive French victory.

A harder battle than the score suggests. The enemy line held for long periods and a number of my units were disrupted by the time I got over the line. Good luck in your next games.

Solemnace Baltic Tribes 1050-1283 AD defeats alexhstandish Anglo Irish 1275-1319 with Irish 59-32
The Anglo Irish heavy cavalry did it's best but could only stem the bleeding as the Irish infantry by and large couldn't stand up to waves of Baltic Impact foot crashing into them from the front and sides.

Division C
Ironclad Carthaginian (Hannibal in Italy) 218-217 BC defeated Chris Townsend Pergamene 262-191 BC 61-57
A close battle which the Carthaginians were lucky to come out on top. The Pergamenes superior deployment enabled them on their left wing to swiftly crush weaker opposition with their concentrated cavalry. In contrast the main Carthaginian cavalry force deployed on the other flank was nullified by strong enemy infantry formations.
The Pergamenes pushed on and their ultimate success looked certain. However the retreating Carthaginian cavalry and recovering elephants outdistancing their pursuers were able to concentrate against the more exposed mounted enemy, victorious engagements which together with some accompanying successful infantry actions led to the surprising battle outcome. Thanks Chris for a great game.

wzfcns Ottoman Turkish defeat Solemnace Scots 42-61
The onslaught of the Highland warriors posed a great threat to the Janissaries, but the Ottoman cavalry manoeuvred and executed a successful flanking attack in the narrow lane between the wood and the lake.
