Microfreezes after most moves sometimes lead to me quitting the game

Since a few months often when I move a unit, I get a microfreeze until the combat is resolved.
The middle of the screen shows the error message "panzer corps has stopped working" and then I have the options to force close the app or wait. As soon as the combat is resolved, the window disappears and I can continue playing.
But I have gotten into the habit to actually chain multiple moves, as you all probably know you can already click your next units for the next move. Since I usually get centered into the middle of the screen, this sadly leads to me clicking on the option that force closes the app.
Now I know the solution would be to wait after every move, but I have done this so often it has become muscle memory. Usually it is not a big problem, but right now I am playing some maps that have far more than 50 units and if I force close the game with one of the last few units it gets really annoying. I had to redo a turn 3 times in a row now.

Does anyone of you have any idea what might cause this?
