Re: Ideas for Panzer Corps 2
99% of PC2 players want a full 5-6 year campaign for the USSR and the Allies from you. I don't understand why Frontlines is being made (it's not bad), but it's not what the player expects. Is anyone stopping you from doing this? Blink three times so we can see that you're being held hostage by the publishers.

Re: Ideas for Panzer Corps 2
1. A lot of resources went into the Pacific campaign, which had to to be benched indefinitely due to not being able to make naval combat fun. Meaning a lot of development time was unfortunately spent on something that did not result in a full game and any new content starts from scratch.BrGGR wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 7:17 am 99% of PC2 players want a full 5-6 year campaign for the USSR and the Allies from you. 2. Based on the above, we cannot be sure if the devs are not working on something else. Who knows, it could even be a land-based Japanese campaign for all that we know. However, it was clearly stated by Slitherine, that based on the lessons from announcing Pacific too early, they will now only mention DLC that are essentially in a state clear to released. It means we will know things later, but it will be more certain.
3. Massive DLC, especially if they were to be linked as with AO, are much more difficult to plan ahead, especially in terms of sales and production time/cost. We don't know exact sales figures, maybe the potential audience is not as massive as we'd think, or at the very least, not as massive to easily justify the cost. You could of course contract other, smaller teams to work on something separate (which seems to be how most DLC were made for this title), but this has it's own series of limitations.
So ultimately, we might not even know if there's something going on right now like work on "American Corps" starting with Operation Torch, AO West or a Japanese campaign on land, but we will not be told until these are in a state close to being fine to release. I strongly prefer this than getting my hopes up and not seeing the DLC in the end, the right lessons have been learned.
That said, we are due for some sort of roadmap for 2025 as it was done earlier for PzC2 and some other titles.

Hey!... I'm just a "Simpleton"... when it comes to understanding the complexities of 'Developing A Game',... but that does not make me a "Total-Idiot" either!.
There's a lot of "Talented Forum Members" here... so why didn't they"
(The-Developers") make a concerted-effort to utilize those resources to "Fish-For-Ideas". I bet that they would have gotten a "Cascading Avalanche Of Ideas"... to help them sort out how to proceed forward with the complexity of their 'Task-Mission-Impasse'.
This!... "Pacific campaign, which had to to be benched indefinitely..."Non-Sense""... is just a "Code-Statement-Phrase'".. for "Quitter-Talk"... . Where there is... "No-Pain!"... then there is also... "No-Gain!".
Re: Ideas for Panzer Corps 2
Perhaps they did, we won't know for sure. I think they are reading at least some messages, since a few features discussed or suggested in this thread, some Steam discussions and other topics did get implemented, or expanded upon as DLC got added. The only real issue was telling the community too early, something admitted directly. We can of course speculate if the players would manage to figure out solutions to problems encountered, but would they be possible to implement is another question entirely. Notice how most of the DLC so far introduced new scripting, unit models or terrain, but never really changed the way the game works, so I always wondered, was it simply that the current engine would require changes too complex or radical to make it work.

An "AHistorical" Game-Play "Re-Work" of WW2:
--------------------------
To begin with!... the relationships between the Nations during WW2 would be as they were or had existed or were established prior to the outbreak of Hostilities.
~~~The known... "Unchangeable WW2 Triggers" that were Decisive in initiating various actions and responses between the Nations would be as they were... where possible.
~~~On the other hand... "Optional Triggers"... that were or were not "Written-In-Stone">[did or did not actually happen]... would be up to the player to decide as to whether they want to "Initiate-Activate" them or not.
~~~"RESEARCH" will now become of "Utmost-Importance"... as whatever "Technological-Advancements" you hoped to have or wanted to have will only Now be procured by investing in Research. "No-Longer!"... will this Game just arbitrarily or freely give or offer them to you for your use.
The consequences of not doing the correct and decisive rigorous Research will of course be immediately felt during any conflict.
~~~Of course!... the required and acceptable amount of time to be available for this Research should be fair and realistic... before "The-Ugly-Stuff" hits the Fan!.
~~~So-Now!... if some of you "Game-Makers" can give this discussion some "thought-assessment"... to consider this Hypothetical "WW2 Re-Work"... instead of just trying to continually Improve and enhance the existing Campaigns... such a "Game-ReWork" as this... an "Industrious Effort" as this "would be most welcome and exciting".
~~~This would "Definitely" take the "Hum-Drum" out of the Game... using the "Uncertainty" of not knowing what will happen next... to keep you standing on your toes.

Unleash the chains on the "Pacific-Theatre_WW2":
A comprehensive "Pacific-theatre-Campaign"... at this time seems distant 'at-best!'... however!... nevertheless!... i'm still going to try to portray a "Hypothetical Gaming Premise" for the Pacific conflict anyway!.
S0-Now... Using "JAPAN" as my project for this illustration,,, let's begin!.
Again!... utilizing this Pacific-Effort as the example!... there would be "No-Changes" to the existing pre-existing "National-Predispositions [Attitudes-Relationships] between the Nations will be as they originally were.
The change now would be... from the original WW2 conflict path to be redirected as it will not be conducted as it was in 'History'... instead the "Ai and Human-Player or Players" will now decide as to what directed actions they will take... regarding "Research-Strategy-Unit Creation-Political Relationships and the Necessary Materials-Acquisition ... to create and develop their armed forces!" to finally 'Unleash' the unrealized potential of this PzC2 Gaming Engine. It's time for the "AI to now show its Full-Potential"... not just in "Reacting" to and on a "One-For-One" confrontational basis... but to be the "Mission-Planner and Director" of the Campaign!.
Same would go for the realm or... "Idea" of and for "Research"... the various participants or Game-Entities [Human-s and Ai] will instead direct their own pathways to developing their own "Military-Technology". As... these Technologies will now-not be arbitrarily handed out for free!. Research can or could be arbitrarily adjusted or directed or manipulated by a randomizer... so as to make "Research and Development"... somewhat "More-Uncertain"... as to realization and completion.
These concepts are what i have sought to seek and find... to finally have a Game that is more Intriguing and less predictable... to have something like a risky Game of "Poker". It would be an "Exhilirating-Gambling-Experience"... to explore this "Untested-Realm" of Known-UnKnown's. .

```"Most-Necessaire!!!"...Unit Creation-& Political Relationships as well as the "Critical Utmost Need" for the Necessary Strategic Minerals and Materials to be Acquired! ... for Global Conquest and Control: ~~~
In this Case... the "Japanese" were "Hamstrung"... it was either acquire these essential-resources or Die!. The "Japanese" needed to occupy and hold specific regions "Rich" in specific rare-earth-minerals... Metals, Etc... in order to create a functional armed forces. If the Player is playing the "JAPANESE"... almost his whole game will depend on whether he is successful in acquiring these most essential and necessary strategic materials. '
That!... by the way... is the "Best-Way" to Defeat-The-Japanese... is to prevent them from acquiring these resources... as well as finding ways to prevent outside non-International Participants [Nations] from supplying the Chinese with adequate supplies of Modern-Weapons.
Re: Ideas for Panzer Corps 2
On a far more manageable scale than the proposed Soviet and/or Allied Operations grand campaigns, an SAS campaign would be brilliant. It would fit nicely within the Elite concept as well. If this happens please don't make the mistake the TV series made of portraying Paddy Mayne as a psychotic, sweary loose cannon. He wasn't.
PzC2 Game-Play Enhancements:
~~~When "Messages" are to be displayed, have an unobstructed "Flashing-Notifier" displayed to indicate that a Message has been transmitted... instead of a "Big-Black-Box" blocking out the Game-Screen... as the turn-action is going on!.~~~
~~~When managing the Units on the Screen... have an Option to temporarily turn-off either the Ground-Units or the Air-Units... so that they don't visually get in each others way as you are trying to Manage them!.~~~
~~~Sometimes... because of situations such as continuing "Rain or Snow" episodes ... another welcomed access Option to have available would be to temporarily" Turn-Off the "Air-Units" so that the Player doesn't have to Cycle through every "Air-Unit" without reason or purpose when they can't be used anyway!.~~~
~~~When Unit-Updates and or Upgrades are available... have a Notifier such as a "Green-Star" in the Units Identification Display-Box or something to let the Player know that Upgrades or Updates for those Units are now available.~~~
Re: Ideas for Panzer Corps 2
Until someone finds a satisfactory maritime warfare gaming mechanic (I would say better than the excellent job done for OOB) the pacific campaign will only remain a jungle/beach skirmish. Think great young developers!
Re: Ideas for Panzer Corps 2
"THINK-GREAT!!!"...... i Agree!!!... . SomeOne like a "YODA" from "Star Wars"... needs to come to the surface to accomplish Great-Undelivered-Game Ideas. Some-one who has the "Game-Force-Energy" in him or her to accelerate these New-Projects to completion with new-energy and new ideas.
Right-Now!... we seemed to be trapped in a "Stasis-Chamber"-"Paralyzed"... with "Cob-Webs" growing over the Development-Effort and are seemingly unable to do much of anything to further other Major-Projects for Development!.
Re: Ideas for Panzer Corps 2
You may remember that when the idea of a PZC2 PACIFIC arose I expressed some well suported doubts on maritime warfare mechnics as it is in this game also in comparison with OOB
