Any chance that someone may know why one would not get prestige from forcing surrenders? Playing on Manstein and Rommel, 1.2 version, reform units and 2 AI.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: no prestige from surrenders
I've only replied to this as no one else as, and I'm sorry I don't have an answer.
I believe prestige from surrenders was introduced in version 1.20, although I've been playing using version 1.31 for a long time. I play on Field Marshall and have been playing for many years and have no experience on playing on Manstein or Rommel. I don't particularly play for surrenders, although I always take them if possible, and as far as I've noticed I always get the prestige. I've tried to think why that might not be the case, and unfortunately nothing come to mind if you're definitely not playing on an older version than 1.20. Hope you get a better answer from someone else.

Re: no prestige from surrenders
Chatgpt answer, not sure it is fully correct though...
If you're not getting prestige when forcing a surrender in Panzer Corps 1, here are some common reasons why that might be happening:
1. Unit strength is too low
You only gain prestige from the remaining strength of the unit at the time of surrender.
If the enemy unit has 1 or 2 strength points left, the prestige reward is minimal or even zero.
Try forcing surrender when a unit still has multiple strength points (but is fully suppressed).
2. Surrender didn’t actually occur
Not every attack that looks like a surrender actually is one.
A true surrender happens when:
The enemy cannot retreat (surrounded), and
Is attacked while fully suppressed (or nearly so).
Check for the surrender icon (white flag) or notification in the battle log.
3. Overkill instead of surrender
If your attack destroys the enemy unit outright (kills the remaining strength), it doesn’t surrender—it just dies.
Surrender = prestige.
Kill = no prestige unless it’s a special scripted event.
Try using a non-lethal attack (like artillery or infantry with low attack power) to tip the enemy into surrender.
4. Bug or custom scenario behavior
Some custom scenarios or mods might modify prestige rewards or disable them.
If you're playing a modded campaign, check the scenario scripts or forums for special rules.
Quick test to confirm it's working:
Find a 10-strength enemy infantry.
Suppress it with artillery until it's nearly or fully suppressed.
Use infantry to surround it (no hexes to retreat).
Attack with a weak unit to trigger surrender.
You should see a prestige gain pop-up right after.

Re: no prestige from surrenders
Thanks for the responses.
The back story is that I had to rebuild my pc and reload all of my PC files. I have also become addicted to Niki's GC mods and reloaded those as well. With the old OS (Win7) everything was fine, and surrenders generated prestige. The current setup appears to run great, but no surrender prestige. I'll look into what Pete posted and see if I'm just doing things wrong.
Rommel is quite the miser and Manstein loves crowds...

Re: no prestige from surrenders
Find file gamerules.pzdat in data folder open it by notepad and find option for surrendering.
There you will see % for surrendering. If there 0% you can change to 50%
