Post by saraviga »

This expansion broadens the frontiers of your conquest, introducing new playable nations, an expanded map, and innovative mechanics that bring nomadic and tribal civilizations to life.

Expanded Frontiers & New Playable Nations

With a map now extending to the Indian subcontinent and deep into the heart of Africa, you can command the formidable Rajput Kingdoms, Kingdom of Ethiopia, and many others. Whether you seek prosperity through trade or domination through war, these nations offer a fresh and dynamic challenge.

New Nomadic and Tribal Mechanics

In Rajas and Tribes, playing as a nomadic or tribal nation introduces new ways to accumulate legacy points. Establish dominance through Great Trades or unleash War campaigns tailored to the strengths of these unique civilizations. Custom buildings, specialized war goals, and distinct development paths set them apart from the established feudal powers.

Two New Scenarios for Tactical Mastery

For those seeking even greater strategic depth, Rajas and Tribes introduces two new scenarios:
  • Alexander Nevsky – Defend the Rus’ against the relentless advance of the Teutonic Knights and Swedish forces, stepping into the role of the legendary hero himself.
  • Guelphs vs. Ghibellines – Take part in the brutal struggle for dominance in medieval Italy, as factions vie for control under the shadow of the Holy Roman Empire.

Hyped. Finally we get mixed Christian/Muslim and 2 new major cultures. Game will be on par with Empires in this aspect. Cant imagine how many new units and buildings you had to design tho. Hopefully AI builds up tier 2 Commerce properly, so there will be a guaranteed demand for the export oriented goods.

Actually, not that much (everything is relative—we’re talking about a game with 700 buildings to begin with), barely 80 new buildings (and 80 impediments). Of course, we’ve visually redesigned 200 buildings to give them a more African, Indian, or nomadic touch (i.e. the same building will look different depending on Culture and/or Religion)!

A significant additional piece of code for the AI should allow it to have many more Tier II buildings, with a special subroutine dedicated to these famous new Great Trade buildings.

Yea. I personally prefer quality over quantity. The more you add, the less consistent AI gonna be. And single players is all about AI. Moreover, in Multiplayer you know that very few build up strategies are meta, so its a lose lose or neutral. But 80 new buildings on top of everything else in no small feat.

Glad to hear AI will be focused on Tier 2. Can finally delegate managing provinces to them after the basic manual touches done. But moe importantly AI will be more competitive especially if they dile in those Military structures to get higher quality tougher garrisons and troops in general.
