Hi,
1) If my artillery with camouflage hero attacks an enemy unit in my turn. Which is correct for AI in AI turn:
a) AI "sees" artillery and will calculate its damage and might refrain from attacking. If so, does it help to move one hex away?
b) AI doesnt see artillery because of the attack
2) if a fighter airplane with camouflage hero is above or adjacent to an enemy ground unit. Does the AI "see" the fighter and take its damage into account before attacking nearby ... f.e.: tactical bombers? (text says "adjacent ground units")

Re: camouflage hero questions
Ai cannot see the arty from it´s attack. In fact it will keep dieing to a camouflaged unit multiple times in a row.spotlight2001 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 8:44 pm Hi,

Ground units see neighbouring units with camouflage(recon see them at max vision range). Camouflage on planes is only usefull on maps with huge water areas.spotlight2001 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 8:44 pm 2) if a fighter airplane with camouflage hero is above or adjacent to an enemy ground unit. Re: camouflage hero questions
I have tested camouflage on fighter vs. ground unit in a modified scenario.
Enemy fighter with camouflage hero:
move ground unit next to camo unit -> not visible
move ground unit on same hex as camo unit -> visible
move recon ground unit in view range (not next to it) to camo unit -> !!! not visible !!!
move recon air unit in view range to camo unit -> visible
This means if you have a fighter with camo hero you can put it on empty enemy hex (with enough distance to recons of course) and amass tac/strat bombers next to invisible fighter. AI should only see your "defenseless" air units.
Ground recons should not be able to detect your camo airplane, unless they are on the same hex ... as works for any unit

Re: camouflage hero questions
When I have the right heroes available, I often equip a good tac bomber like the Stuka with AT and ART Support, Camo, Double Support, and another offensive boosting hero if there's room. With 6 ammo, it can destroy 3 units in support, or more, per AI turn. It is also a great way to race that unit to attack award bonuses.spotlight2001 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 6:49 pm I have tested camouflage on fighter vs. ground unit in a modified scenario.

However, in my experience enemy recons do spot it, but I'll need to pay attention as to whether they do only when adjacent to my bomber.
I've also used similar combo with fighters to bait enemy fighters into attacking a juicy air target. It is also great for racking up air attack bonuses rather quickly. My favorite is to use the He 219 twin engine fighter, and OS it to its max!
