Win 11 Can't Save
Recently got a Win 11 desktop computer and decided to load up my Battle Academy onto it (I still have it on my Win 8.1 old computer).
PROBLEMS
- I can upload the game and France DLC either from the site here or via Steam and play the base scenarios, but it won't let me SAVE a game. I type in a save Name, hit Save and it just goes back to the game not saving anything.
- It also won't let me download any of the player made scenarios. It either just comes up with the 'had a problem' prompt or will load part way (between 40 & 70%) and then do the 'had a problem' prompt.

Re: Win 11 Can't Save
not a windows 11 issue as such, more of a permissions type of one, you need to make sure you have no overlay software running and load and play games with admin rights, so from a admin account and right click install and run as admin and also make sure it's up to date as well with the same rule, ran and install as admin etc, then it bypasses anything that stops the game from running or installing or from the correct place etc

Yeah I came across that before I posted.
That's not really an option anymore as recent updates to windows have locked the controlled folder access beyond a wall. All you get is 'your IT admin won't let you touch this' kind of warning and there's nothing to convince it you are THE admin of your own computer system.
From looking online I'm not the only one with this problem and everything points back to microsofts controlling nature as the problem.

Assuming your machine isn't actually controlled by some corporate IT policies, is your current user account an admin?

Re: Win 11 Can't Save
Can you try downloading and running this, as described. Then do a reboot and take a look to see if you can then change the settings.

It looks like MS has really borked a number of the setup steps for some W11 installs...

No thanks. That fix came out a year ago, if they haven't bothered to auto inject it into the system yet I see no reason to do it.
I still have my Win 8.1 computer and am quite happy to run BA on it.
