Where's the smoke?

Post by Der_Kuenstler »

On my mortar unit it says this:
smoke.png
smoke.png (216.54 KiB) Viewed 962 times
But when I select the unit in game there is no option for smoke - it just the regular attack:

Am I doing something wrong? I'm using version 1.00.07.

It is a mistake in the description, I think.
Snipers and Scouts have smoke, but not the mortar units.

must agree maybe would be nice for the unit to have the ability to do smoke, then again some infantry units had smoke as well in ww2, so some ability for some other units would add to it, yes range would be limited, but gives you more options so maybe something that could be added at a later date maybe?

Please add smoke to these units. For 2 squares.
This may be a feature of one of the mortar crew.

And limited possibility of using e.g. 2 times
In case of greater experience 3 stars this possibility could increase by 1

I think all armored cars and the Jeep have some sort of smoke capability.

You are absolutely correct re mortars, at least those >80mm and so of course artillery should also have smoke.

If combat engineers ever debut they should also have smoke.

As for the broader issue of improvements to game design, there have been dozens of suggestions made since the game came out but none have been implemented. I asked about this yesterday and was told "an update is coming" so maybe something will happen. I understand the delay insofar as it is a function in improving stability but also getting out a couple DLCs but am decidedly less sympathetic to dev time spent on improving Skirmish AI which I think a fool's errand. Alas I appear to be in a minority who play the game multi-player vice against the AI :-\
