Settings of unit behavior in the editor

Post by bayern »

Hello

is there a tutorial for the behavior of the AI (EDITOR) units?
I don't understand how best to enter the settings for the AI units and how the AI then reacts....
there are many settings, for example:

Standard
Attacker
Defender
Hold position (Passive)
Hold position (Active)
Hold position (Fire)
Move to
Move to (Random)
Patroll
Patroll (Random)
Unload

maybe there is an explanation or a tutorial in the forum about this, unfortunately I haven't found anything yet, but I think I read something a long time ago.

Thank you for your help :-)

You can hover your cursor over the little blue boxed question mark near the setting
Maybe someone has more detailed info, but from the top of my head:

Standard - default, according to "attacker/defender" settings for this "side"
Attacker - tries to attack and occupy nearest victory hex currently under enemy control
Defender - tries to defend nearest threatened victory hex currently under own control
Hold position (Passive) - stays exactly where it is, without even firing on nearby or directly adjacent enemy units
Hold position (Active) - stays exactly where it is, until it directly sees an enemy unit which switches it to standard stance
Hold position (Fire) - like (Passive) above, but fires on nearby (if arty) and directly adjacent units
Move to - tries to move to below specified AI Zone, see that ones blue question mark
Move to (Random)
Patroll
Patroll (Random)
Unload
longer, alternative "PG" like Campaign new version 0.34 from 2011.08.02 (another bugfix & now in zip format)
