Game not launching properly

I tryna force a game to launch DX11 on Steam by using the -dx11 command in the launch options. However, the game won't run in DX11 mode.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Added -dx11 to the game’s launch options in Steam.

Restarted Steam and the game multiple times.

Verified the game files via Steam.

Made sure my GPU supports DX11.

The game still starts in its default mode (either Vulkan or something else, depending on the game). Has anyone else encountered this issue, or does anyone have a solution?

Look, Pip, the game itself isn’t the point here. I’m trying to figure out how to get games to launch right through Steam, and it keeps something else. I already tried adding launch arguments, but it’s not working. Doesn’t matter which game — this is about Steam, not a specific game. You got any actual advice? Redirecting OPs to another forum is just pushing your problems away.

In the actual game subforum you are more likely to get people who have tried out the thing you are trying to do, in the game you're trying to do it. When I say another forum, I mean the appropriate subforum here, rather than just posting in General Discussion.

I get where you're coming from, Pip, but I really think the issue lies with Steam and/or some of the game files themselves, not just specific games. I’ve gone through the usual troubleshooting steps like verifying game files and adjusting settings, but nothing works. I’m looking for insights on Steam’s launch process or any tweaks that might help get games to start correctly. If anyone knows the problem, let me know.
