We may not get a campaign out of it, but I would love to have the Japanese unit roster be made available for sandbox content in the map editor. If those assets were actually created, why not release them so we can make a few Pacific scenarios of our own?
Well it's shelved not cancelled so it might come eventually

It really Works!!!. I also downloaded and installed the "GOG GALAXY" tool which assisted in installing the Game!... it may or may not be necessary to download this application... i am not sure!.
Anyway!... here is the Web-Site Address:

Great game !!! I beat all the campaigns...:) Really hope Panzer Corps 2 will take modern-day route some day :)

Strategic Command WWII: War in the Pacific
https://www.matrixgames.com/game/strate ... 0-87489721
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2740 ... e_Pacific/

A Day of Infamy
Our flagship campaign begins with the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor on the 7th December 1941 and the rapid expansion of Japan’s Empire into South East Asia and the Pacific. Will victory be won in India, Australia, Hawaii, or battling for islands throughout the Pacific Ocean? This is your chance to re-fight the 20th century’s greatest conflict in the Pacific!

Strategic Command - WWII: War in the Pacific and its flagship 1941 Day of Infamy campaign comes with an impressive 36,000 hex map, providing you with the opportunity to wage war from India and Burma in the west, via the Dutch East Indies, Malaya, the Philippines, Guadalcanal, the Kokoda Trail, Iwo Jima, Tarawa and Midway to the west coast of North America, at an approximately 80km/50mi scale.

Tora! Tora! Tora!
While Japanese Carriers are launching their first strikes on US Battleships at Pearl Harbor, amphibious operations are underway elsewhere, as Allied forces throughout the Pacific and South East Asia come under attack. The fighting will stretch from Hong Kong to Burma, Malaya, the Dutch East Indies, Borneo, New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and beyond, possibly even into Australia, India or New Zealand.

Meanwhile, a war no less significant continues on the mainland, as Chinese and Japanese forces are locked in battle for control of China. This war has been waging for years and shows no signs of abating, as Japan struggles to drive further inland. Now that its war is expanding and they are facing more enemies with greater economic potential and might, Japan must act quickly to seize as many resources as it can, and to weaken the Allied fleets and armies that oppose it.

Command the forces of 7 Major powers: Japan, Australia, China, Communist China, the USA, UK and USSR, together with the allied forces that fought on both sides, and play with a choice of 3-D unit graphics or NATO counters.

Battles will be fought across the breadth and depth of the map, on land and at sea, over islands like Okinawa, Tarawa, Guam and Saipan, as well as on the land masses where forces from Australia, New Zealand, the Dutch East Indies, India, China, the UK, USA and USSR will battle with the might of the Imperial Japanese Army and Navy.

Japanese allies will feature too, starting with the defection of Thailand, the growth of the Indian National Army, the Burma Independence Army, and not forgetting Japan’s Mongolian and Chinese and allies, based in Mengjiang and Nanjing respectively.

It seems the biggest problem were the low range of the planes.
They could just implement a rule in some maps: all planes +100 speed
Problem solved

Just CRAP! I went on steam today and noticed my wishlist was missing Panzer Corps 2 Pacific.
I started to look into why this had happened and started reading about it being shelved.
This DLC has been on my wishlist since 2020 and now they shelved it is pure crap!
As for myself i will not be going ahead and purchasing anymore DLC from this franchise because this whole situation tells me that Slithering does not have the gamers interest in mind as they are hoping to release these tiny DLC like The battle of the bulge to keep up gamers hook on the franchise instead of promising us a whole new theater in the PACIFIC which i myseft was excited about.
So until they release the Pacific version Slithering has lost me as a customer!

Well although disappointed, I'm sure it will come out maybe as a full game instead of DLC which would be smart since panzer Corps 2 is based on war in Europe, so it makes sense that the dlc would be the Allied side like there doing now although the Frontline series and now war stories has me confused but the decision to not make the Pacific a DLC sounds like a smart move in my opinion it should be a complete reworked game.
55 year old Gamer and WW2 buff my 3 all time favorite games are
1. Panzer Corps 2
2. Order of Battle WW2
3. War in the East 2

I'm old enough to remember the Star General game, one of the five stars games, and how massively disappointing it was.

I think it is a good thing that the devs have shelved the idea of a Pacific game based on the PC2 game engine.

Star General completely failed to understand the rock-papers-scissors nature of PC2 (and PG) combat: tanks beat infantry, infantry beats artillery and artillery beats tanks (somewhat simplified of course).

I played Star General two or three times and to my amazement all the nuance and goodness of the Panzer General game was just gone. Just move a blob of spaceships towards your enemy and basically hope your fleet is bigger than his.

And that's what naval combat in Panzer General/Corps is. You basically need a completely different game engine and then it's no longer this game, it's some other game.

PS. I note somebody has put up Star General on steam. I sure hope it isn't the original deeply flawed game because that's what I would call a scam.

PS. The other five star game I played was People's General. It was much much better of course, but still, I quickly returned to PG and PG2. The modern capabilities of enemy units meant that every time the AI decided to focus-fire on one of your units, that unit died, full stop. What makes Panzer General/Corps so compelling is the roleplaying aspect of nursing your rookie units to become unstoppable elite veteran monsters. When you lost a core unit, you nearly always realize you've made a mistake. Not so in People's General.

People's General to me failed because the devs didn't add a new unit-safeguarding mechanism to replace the one PG/PC relies on: the AI can't effectively coordinate primitive armies to focus-kill your units. But as your army modernizes and gains reach, even the AI can do it. Imagine tripling the range of PC2 units: now if you want a unit dead, you simply attack it four or five times... and it dies.

I'm also old and remember the 5-Star series by SSI. A couple corrections: They were all tied to Panzer General (I), not Panzer General II. People's General was based on the PG2 engine, but not part of the 5-Star series. The 5-Star series included Allied General, Fantasy General, Pacific General, and Star General. (I had to look up the last one as I only owned the WW2 ones.) Even Allied General was flawed in major ways and Pacific General even more so as it was the one that I played the least because I seem to remember it just being outright boring and not fun. I played them on my first and only Mac that I ever owned and Panzer General II's release being for only Windows immediately drove me back to owning only PCs again ever since. So, as you can see, this game series really made its mark on my life!

Just imagine the time spent sitting, and working, in a chair for it to look like that. The leather is just disintegrating. The plastic so fatigued from use that it was completely broken. You can't pay someone to sit in a chair that much, they have to want to be in that chair.

I really appreciate the hard work that you do. I'm disappointed that Pacific has been shelved but the bigger issue is the ability to have a new grand campaign for the Americans and British. There is plenty of content but it may be the most difficult change.

With the Poland campaign, it looks like going back to develop some of the major campaigns and add depth. I would love to see this happen for France '40, Africa 41-43, Sicily/Italy 43-45, D-Day to Berlin and I'm sure that more content can be mined out of Barbossa to Berlin.

Good to know - didn't know it was a fake. :( BTW - looks really too good - to be real. But why would someone go to so much work, if it's not real for Panzer Corps 2 anyway?

What is real, however, is that you are offering illegal pirated copies of Panzer Corps 2 in Russian forums and others under the name Uzbek. I find it unbearable how someone like that can continue to be part of the community. I hope Slitherine takes action against this theft. A complaint against an as yet unknown person under the name Uszbek has already been filed by Germany and Interpol.
How can you steal someone's fantasies and photoshop work as well as fake videos? Also how do you have official permission to use the Panzer Corps 2 game engine? Your degradation and stupidity with rudeness only amuses me ! Misha Black fantasist scandaliser and liar thrown out of all forums and communities !!!! I understand autumn aggravates mental crisis in morons but I hope psychiatrist and sedative Galaperedol will help you !

I do not know how to steal other people's stupid dreams and fantasies, so take care of yourself Misha at your age it's not good to be nervous and don't PR your fake! Those who have been on the forum for a long time have already realized that you are just a weak-minded chatterbox Munchausen )))). And how can you steal something from the body that the body itself has no license and permission to use ))))

The difference between you and me is that I am a passionate Panzer Corps 2 modder, which is allowed - others here do it too. But we do that only for a privat german PC2 Player community and stand outside. You and your Russian minions offer the original Panzer Corps 2 engine for download on Russian and international platforms. So who is the criminal here? I hope Slitherine has an interest in hunting down people like you and finally convicting them.
You Misha are a criminal stealing other people's game engines and ideas you make fake videos and post your stupid pictures edited in photoshop ! There are people here from all over the world but you are just a stupid Russophobe and the saddest thing is that you were kicked out on German forums too, can you imagine what a stupid piece of shit you are and even now you are making your racist arguments here !So troll calm down and go to sleep there are new dreams waiting for you which you will surely tell your psychiatrist about) I hope you are not selling your illegal creative work that no one needs )Commerce without a license is a big sin remember it is a Nazi)

Thats the last privat message from Mr. bondjamesbond aka Uzbek. Anyone who behaves in this way should urgently see a psychiatrist. Hopefully the Ukrainians will soon tear your subhuman asses apart - I hope for an invasion of Belarus in the next 2 weeks. I have many friends in Ukraine who will hopefully send me your skull!

With national greetings from Germany!
Now I demand that this piece of Nazi shit be thrown out for inciting ethnic hatred and Nazi slogans ! Your skull will make a great night pot - goodbye troll )
