Battle of Mlawa Is Odd

Post by Thunderhog »

Whoever made the scenario must have accidentally put the minefields that pepper the map as "Panzer Division Kampf" and therefore is impossible to get a "win". Or they did that on purpose to force the player their first withdraw if they did not already do so in the mission before.

Just had a quick look in the editor.

I see few Polish-owned mines, and many German-owed ones, but the latter only to soft-seal off spawn zones.

They don't show names in the editor, unless I'm missing something -- are you using modded files? However, technically it looks ok in the editor. Otherwise I dunno.

The objective is using "destroy all units", which makes the game just count all units owned by the enemy. Maybe the count should be changed to not including mines.

Certainly. Could be quick-changed by assigning those mines to a second Ger AI faction allied to the main one, this might be less of a hassle than changing the objective...

Nah, I made sure to take off all mods and restart like always. Every time I killed a minefield on Mlawa the counter would go up

Yeah, Virgil has it right. I just had thought initially it would be something like "all units appear as named mines" Which is not the case :)

I can't comment on your change in uniform. Thats your personal decision and not for me to pass judgement on :D

But the Wachtruppe look just fine. You'll have issues changing their camo but then thats been true of every multi model unit since the Spanish DLC. I talked about that many, many times.

For usabilities sake the system is designed to assign one texture set to the contents of a hex. Theres work arounds to get an initial set of three materials in, such as the Wachtruppe, spanish Militia, Russian Partisans etc.. . But once the player assigns a standard single unit material/camo pattern to the entire unit of three different figures with differing UV layouts, its never going to work. I suspect you'd have to restart the scenario to fix that. A standard German field grey might disguise it a bit better but the skins will still be messed up.

Ohhh that's why. The Wachtruppe on Westerplatze mission just looked like my photo. Even with the regular camo the dude who holds the flag is a little derpy looking.

I could tell you the reason for that but I'd be done away with. It caused a stupid amount of stress and was the best we could do under extremely trying circumstances. We just hoped no one would be churlish enough to point it out

Damn, sorry guys. If it means anything, I'm still enjoying the missions. My only complaint being that I thought we'd get more story in a story based DLC. We get more chatter from AO missions. Especially with the lack of end debrief and the briefs being military codes. I was hoping we'd get our own adjutants like in AO.
