Kingdoms Turns are running twice

Hello Team, our current 16 player game appears to be making us complete the same turn twice. Can you check this? This is not a problem for me as my current territory is small. Large Kingdoms are having to perform double duty so this is a pain for game play.

Exactly the same??? please make an ingame report shift-escape about the problem.

This usually happens if one of the players has a modified game.

This is indeed a synchronization issue, unless someone is cheating. What you can do is ask people to verify they have an unmodified version (Steam is best for that with the verify files integrity feature). Additionally, we recently discovered that cloud saving can be an issue in some cases, so for the 1.03 beta, we are adding extra protection measures.

Yeah see the link in the forum regarding cloud saves, like google drive and onedrive.

Hello Support Team...The 16 player game that I and others are playing is making us take a double turn...can you please address this bug. This is a real pain to players who have 150 territories to manage and having to play the same turn twice

Support team are you able to check the members of our game to see if they are cheating? I have played and finished El Cid with three other players without issue and my AI campaign is fine as well. There are several players who show as idle

vonSchlausewitz (Holy Roman Empire) IDLE joins games and stays idle in Multiple games (is this a robot player)?
Saramande (Rus) IDLE does the same as player vonSchlausewitz (is this a robot player)? Signed up as Rus for two games
39axis IDLE (is this a robot player)?

Can you check for us? The game that we paid for is being ruined. There are not many active games so this should be easy to track.

I have done 4 MP turns today so its not the engine that is down atm, and you have played another MP game so that should also be be OK, and Idle players doesn't affect anything except waste time the first 3 turns they are idle, they could be at work or something so they have some grace time before the AI takes over.
So one of the remaining players must have the problem.

To find out which start a 2 new MP game with half of them (same timezone would be nice) and just move an army and press done.
If all goes well they don't have the problem.

We can't know for sure, and specifically, there is no way for us to determine if they are using cloud saves with latency issues causing files to not be fully written before being retrieved!

What I can tell you is that we are changing the protocol for version 1.03 to work around this issue. In the meantime, you need to ask players to stop using cloud saves and ensure they have not edited their game files. You can also follow Surt's suggestion and try to identify who has an issue by creating games for two players.

We are very sorry, but there is no way we can make MP games foolproof against any player fiddling or tweaking. Additionally, we do not officially support games running on emulators or non-Windows platforms.

The games run fine when everyone is on Windows with untouched vanilla games using a local hard drive. For anything more exotic, you are taking a gamble.

Again, I'm very sorry about these potentially ruined games. Each player must have the exact same data, or they will experience different simulations/worlds when they open their new turn. Imagine, for example, that the data of two players differ. The random number generator will be different, and, say, from the English point of view, France has levied a mercenary company of 3 spearmen, while for France, they have levied 4 archers. You see where this is going: the simulation is different, reality will tear apart, and horrible things will happen. Judgment day. :roll:

In addition to potentially solving the Cloud issue in version 1.03 (which will be included in the beta version), the official version 1.03 should provide more information about discrepancies.

I, too, along with Surt and 12 others, am experiencing a double turn issue in a PBEM game. There isn't much you can do if some players don't verify their game or keep using Cloud services. You'll need to Submit your turn again and hope it works. We somehow managed to get back on our feet once in our PBEM. It might just be that the player in question did not submit his turn and so it went fine.
