If you bought the game without an oil option you'd be happy and not returning it so try and look at it that way.

That is your decision and no problem if you do, but the game is very playable without the oil option. We shoudl just have cut out all the additional features like this for PSP and DS but we foolishly wanted to give as many options as possible. I always have it off and just raise the difficulty level as I find it far more interesting. As a note unless these type of games get supported on PSP you wont see any more of them

I'm not convinced you should have cut the additional features. They do give the game a bit more a wargamey edge, while still being very light an accessible. The level of simulation acheived in the game with very simple mechanics impresses me greatly. I do think the oil element is an important part of the game, especially from the Axis perspective. I can see why it isn't on by default, but I really appreciated that it was there (and the oil barrels on the interface even when turned off clued me into it being there) I have now returned the game, but I am well hooked.iainmcneil wrote:That is your decision and no problem if you do, but the game is very playable without the oil option. I plan to get a DS, as it seems if I want strategy games that is the platform to choose. Then I can play this game with the oil option on, and also access titles like Civilization Revolution.
I am also tempted to get it for PC, although the lightness of the game does make it ideal for a handheld.

okay ... so there is not any possibility to patch a PSP game ?
Just bought my PSP Slim 3004 with Commander 10 days ago special for a trip from Europe to US (flight time 9 hours) ... and encountered that problem !
BUT why is there a possibility to CHECK for UPDATES at the PSP Icon ? If you choose it, it says it is Version 1.0 and UP TO DATE (What a lie
Isn't it possible to use that PSP functionallity or is that too expensive ? (I fear SONY will charge the company to use that, wouldn't they ?)
PS: Is there a way to deactivate OIL usage after you have started the game ?

The bug was fixed and I think they may have introduced a patching feature for PSP but the company that converted the game to PSP no longer exists so getting a patch file made up is going to be almost impossible I fear. We are trying to get the game out on the PSN store and that would have the bug fixed but I dont think that helps as far as existing PSP UMD games.

once when I wanted to place a General , othertime when I marked a unit and now, whne I tried to move a ship ...
maybe it is beause I am at 1944 and there are now hundreds of units (GB and USA have filled all Canada and US with units, as all other parts belongs to me) and I am attacking ...
Hope you will continue to make games for PSP ... as I only play strategic games and need that PSP for that boring flights and bathing holidays
(maybe you even try to make them more complex, would be nice, if possible)

Re:
Hi. I feel little bit necromantic to resurect this old thread. But I have new PS VITA, so I am thinking to buy this game from PSN. Now its there for 15$, which is quite fine to own it second time. I'd like to know, if this bug is repaired in the PSN version. Thanks.IainMcNeil wrote:The bug was fixed and I think they may have introduced a patching feature for PSP but the company that converted the game to PSP no longer exists so getting a patch file made up is going to be almost impossible I fear.
